The short answer: for a B2B software team on HubSpot that runs one webinar a month for about 200 registrants, most of whom watch the replay, Contrast is the better fit: Pro for 250 unique registrants a month costs €179 a month billed yearly, or $219 in US dollars, and its HubSpot sync is native on that plan (Contrast pricing). If attendance is patchy, sessions run past two hours, or HubSpot is not the centre of the stack, Livestorm fits: it bills only people who join, live or on replay, from 400 attendee credits at €2.50 each, €1,000 a year (Livestorm pricing, plans article). Both checked on 26 October 2026.

Work out the meter first:

  1. Run last year through both price models. For example, 12 webinars of 200 registrants each, with 45% joining live or on replay: Contrast's 250 tier is €179 x 12 = €2,148 a year, while Livestorm needs 12 x 90 = 1,080 credits, past the 1,000 pack, so the 1,500 pack at €3,450 (Contrast pricing, plans article). At a 35% show rate, Livestorm needs 840 credits and the €2,400 pack. On these numbers Livestorm is the cheaper meter only when a year fits the 400 pack, a show rate under 400 / 2,400 = 16.7%.
  2. Map it to the HubSpot portal you already run. Contrast lists its native HubSpot integration on Pro (Contrast pricing). Livestorm's two pages disagree: the pricing page marks HubSpot "Enterprise plan only", and the help article says the integration is open to all plans, Free included (Livestorm pricing, HubSpot article). Get Livestorm's answer in writing.
  3. Measure the show rate you already have. Divide attendees, live plus replay, by registrants for your last three webinars. That one ratio decides which meter is cheaper for you.

Three things that tip it

Registrants against attendees

Contrast's FAQ argues that live viewers are only a fraction of the audience, so it charges on the people who sign up, live or replay (Contrast pricing). Livestorm takes the opposite view and charges only when someone enters the room or presses play (Livestorm pricing). Neither is a trick. A list that registers keenly and rarely shows up is cheaper on Livestorm; an audience that turns up and rewatches is cheaper on Contrast.

How deep the HubSpot link goes

Contrast is built around HubSpot: its pricing page lists 50+ properties, seven app events, one-click lists, HubSpot forms and watch time on the contact timeline (Contrast pricing). Livestorm's HubSpot connection pushes registrants in as contacts (Livestorm pricing), and the plan it belongs to depends on which Livestorm page you read. For a team that scores leads in HubSpot, that difference outweighs the price.

Length and line-up

A two-hour cap is fine for a demo and tight for a workshop with questions. Livestorm Pro runs to 4 hours, with up to 25 people on stage, against Contrast Pro's 2 hours and 9 speakers (Livestorm pricing, Contrast pricing).

Prices, both currencies

Contrast Pro, per month, from its pricing page on 26 October 2026, which shows euros or dollars by your location: €79, €179 or €349 billed yearly for 100, 250 or 500 registrants a month, or €99, €229 and €439 billed monthly; in US dollars, $99, $219 and $419 yearly, or $129, $279 and $529 monthly. Advanced is quoted, with yearly quotas up to 10,000 registrants.

Livestorm Pro, per year, from its plans article the same day: 400 credits for €1,000 or $1,200, 1,000 for €2,400 or $2,900, 1,500 for €3,450 or $4,125, 2,500 for €5,375 or $6,500 and 4,000 for €8,000 or $9,600. Enterprise is quoted.

One line in that article matters at renewal: unused credits do not roll over to the next billing period (plans article). The pack you size for the year you hope for is paid in full in the year you get, so buy for last year's attendance and move up a tier mid-year if it grows.

One agent step: registering a customer list from an assistant

Livestorm runs an official MCP server at mcp.livestorm.co that lets Claude, ChatGPT or Microsoft 365 Copilot create events, register people one by one or in bulk, and read attendance, chat and questions, with the same permissions as the Livestorm user who signs in (Livestorm MCP). Ask it to register the customers on a HubSpot list to next Tuesday's training session. The human check comes before the write: have the assistant show the list it will register and the session it chose, then remove anyone who has unsubscribed or never agreed to hear from you, because every registrant enters the event's automated emails, five by default (first event guide). The rules for what you send afterwards are in the webinar follow-up use case.

Contrast's AI sits after the session instead: Repurpose Ai drafts blog posts, summaries, newsletters and LinkedIn posts from the transcript, 20 times on Pro (Contrast pricing).

Which job each one wins

Choose Contrast if your job is a monthly demand webinar for a HubSpot-run B2B software company, where most registrants watch the replay, sessions stay under two hours and every session turns into posts and clips.

Choose Livestorm if your job is a mix of webinars, demos and customer training with uneven turnout, sessions up to four hours, and an assistant that can manage events and registrations for you.

FAQ

Do no-shows cost money?

On Contrast, yes: a registrant counts whether or not they attend. On Livestorm, no: credits are spent only when someone joins, watches the replay or watches on demand (Contrast pricing, plans article).

Which one connects to HubSpot on its entry paid plan?

Contrast lists its native HubSpot integration on Pro. Livestorm's pricing page says Enterprise only and its help article says every plan, so ask before you buy (Contrast pricing, Livestorm HubSpot article).

What happens when a webinar draws more people than the plan covers?

Contrast keeps registration open and moves you up a tier at the next billing cycle. Livestorm Pro sends alerts as you approach the quota, then stops new attendees joining until you upgrade (Contrast pricing, Livestorm pricing).
