How to Use Insense to Brief UGC Videos for Paid Social

The short answer: for a first batch of ad creative, run one UGC campaign on Insense's Brand plan, at $1,500 a quarter plus a 10% fee on what you pay creators, with UGC videos starting at $100 each (checked on 26 October 2026 on the pricing page). The steps: fund the wallet, write the brief with a script and the raw-plus-edited format, screen applicants on their portfolios, ship the product, use your three revisions, then license the videos that pass for Partnership Ads.

Before you write the brief:
- Trial or Brand, in dollars. For example, eight videos at $100 on the Trial cost 8 x $100 = $800, plus the 20% fee is $960, plus $650 for the month: $1,610. The same eight on Brand cost $800 plus 10% = $880, plus $1,500 for the quarter: $2,380, with two more months to brief. Both sets of figures come from the pricing page.
- Your three strongest ads are the brief. Write down each one's hook, the claim it makes and its call to action; those become the script creators follow. Insense's own pricing guidelines show the shape of a performance request: three creators, nine hook variations, 24 B-rolls and six CTAs, from $450.
- Name every ad before it runs. Put the creator and the hook in each ad name, so cost per result in your ad account can be read by creator and by hook after a fixed spend.
What you need
- An Insense account on the Trial or a paid plan, and a card to fund the wallet; the minimum transaction is 50 USD, and the top-up screen shows the transaction fee before you pay (wallet article).
- Product details, a product image, and a way to get the product to creators.
- A Meta business account with an ad account, if the videos will run as Partnership Ads.
Step 1: Choose goal and strategy
In the brief, select or add the brand, then give the campaign a name creators will want to click, since it is the first thing they see (brief guide). For content you will use in ads, pick "Multi-Channel UGC" as the goal and User-Generated Content as the strategy, then set how many creators you want to hire and the price range (UGC setup).
Step 2: Write the creative asset
Add a video asset and fill in whether it is posted, where, the format and the length, and whether you want raw footage, an edited version or both. Insense recommends "Ready to use Ad + Raw footage" for UGC, because the raw clips let you cut new versions later (UGC setup). The field that decides the result is "What should creators do?": it comes pre-filled by content type, so replace it with your script, hooks, calls to action and shot list, and add the don'ts and reference videos (brief guide).
Step 3: Set delivery, privacy and filters
Choose how the product reaches creators: not required, shipped by you, or bought by the creator and reimbursed (delivery article). A public brief is shown to every creator matching your filters; a private one only to creators you pick. Add lookalike profiles of creators who already make your ads well, a screening question, and the option to exclude creators from past campaigns (brief guide). Then send the brief for review; Insense's team checks it and sets it live or asks for changes.
Step 4: Screen applicants on their work, not their audience
For UGC, Insense's advice is to judge camera presence, voice, emotion and energy, content quality, and experience in your industry rather than followers or engagement (screening article). Play the portfolio videos from the creator's card, and look for the "UGC Expert" badge, which rests on the creator's portfolio and past deliveries on Insense, and the badge Insense keeps for creators whose collaborations brands have consistently rated highly.
Step 5: Hire and ship
Once you hire a creator, their address becomes available; confirm it has not changed, tell them when the parcel leaves and send the tracking link in the chat (delivery article). For reimbursement campaigns, send the product link and reimburse through the chat.
Step 6: Review against the brief
You can ask for up to three revisions per collaboration, through the chat, and each request must stay within the original brief (content quality article). Say what to change in plain words, attach a visual example, and keep it all in the chat. If the third version still misses the brief, you can ask to cancel the collaboration; Insense reviews the request within 24 hours.
Step 7: License the strongest videos for Partnership Ads
Insense works with account-level Partnership Ads permissions, which let you run several ads with a creator's content without the creator posting it organically (Partnership Ads article). A Meta Partnership Ads campaign on Insense bundles the content rights, the length of the ads licence and support on the deal; the Creator Ads Hub sends requests in bulk, including to creators outside Insense. Once content is approved and paid for, you hold full digital rights to use it across digital channels, per the FAQ on the pricing page.
If a creator also posts the video on their own account, the Dutch advertising code for social media counts UGC creators who advertise on their own channel among the cases that must be labelled, and lists a platform's own "paid partnership with" feature as a clear label (RSM). Name the feature in the brief.
Step 8: Reach creators outside the marketplace, with an AI-picked list
If the brief draws too few applicants, open "Outreach Insights" on the campaign dashboard and click "Launch Outreach" (outreach article). The email sequence comes pre-filled for your strategy, and Insense's AI preselects creators who match the brief and are not yet on the platform; you can replace that list with your own. The human check is the preview: read every email in the sequence before you press "Launch Outreach". These creators never signed up to Insense, so the first email has to say who you are and where their address came from, as Article 14 of the GDPR requires for data you did not collect from the person (GDPR on EUR-Lex).
Send from a warmed Gmail account on a separate domain: Insense's email setup guide suggests dedicated outreach domains and names Smartlead and Instantly for buying domains and warming accounts.
Step 9: Read what it cost and what it earned
The performance dashboard shows completed deals, unique creators, creative assets delivered, total spend and the average deal price, filtered by brand or campaign. Put that spend beside cost per result in your ad account, by creator and hook, and brief the next round on the hooks that won.
The renewal date
Brand renews itself every three months, per the pricing page. Cancelling keeps the plan active until the last day of the cycle (cancellation article), and a pause, available only on quarterly or annual plans, closes active campaigns after 14 days (pause article). Renewal is the default the subscription is paid by, so put a review date in the calendar a week before each quarter ends and decide on the dashboard numbers.
Before any of it, the brief costs nothing to write: the help centre's brief samples and the pricing guidelines are public, and a finished brief means the first paid month goes on creators rather than drafting. The Insense glossary entry lists each plan's seats, fees and limits.
FAQ
Can I use the videos outside Meta?
Yes. The digital rights cover social media, websites, newsletters, blogs and email, and extend to an agency's clients (pricing FAQ).
Can I pause instead of cancelling?
Yes, for up to 90 days in any 365, on quarterly or annual plans; you cannot launch campaigns or hire while paused (pause article).
What if the content ignores the brief?
Request up to three revisions in the chat; after that, ask Insense to cancel the collaboration, which its moderation team reviews (content quality article).
