The short answer: to size demand for a list of 50 page ideas, the Bronze plan's 100,000 credits a year (pricing) are more than enough: install the extension, add your free API key, buy the plan, switch off the autocomplete and widget settings that spend credits on their own, paste the list into Bulk Keywords Data, check volumes against your own Search Console queries, export, and cut the list to the ideas with demand.

Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.

The job here is a quick, defensible yes or no on each idea before anyone writes a brief. Keywords Everywhere is suited to it because the data sits where you already work and costs one credit per keyword. What the tool includes and costs is in the Keywords Everywhere glossary entry.

Before you paste a single keyword:

  1. Price the job. A bulk lookup uses one credit per keyword you paste, per the credits guide, so 50 ideas plus 3 variants each is 50 x 4 = 200 credits. Bronze holds 100,000.
  2. Start with what you have. Your list of page ideas, plus Search Console access for the site, since the extension adds volume columns to your own query report.
  3. Set the bar before you see the numbers. Write down the monthly volume an idea needs to justify a page, and whether a rising 12-month trend can make up for a smaller figure. Deciding the threshold after looking is how weak ideas survive.

Step 1: Install the extension and pin it

Install Keywords Everywhere for Chrome, Firefox or Edge; there is no Safari version or mobile app, according to the FAQ. If the "K" icon does not show in Chrome's toolbar, open the jigsaw-piece extensions menu and pin it.

Step 2: Add your API key and buy a plan

Click the K icon, choose Update Settings and paste your API key at the top of the settings page; you get a free key from the sign-up page linked there. Then open the K menu again and use Purchase Subscription, as the installation answer in the FAQ sets out. Paddle handles payment and collects VAT where it applies, per the pricing page. Every plan is annual.

Step 3: Stop the extension spending credits you did not ask for

Three settings matter. Untick "Show Metrics in Autocomplete Suggestion Drop Downs", because every suggestion Google shows as you type costs a credit. Untick the options under "Credit Usage for Widgets", which leaves a button to fetch volumes when you want them. And turn the extension off from its popup when you are not researching, because personal searches spend credits too. All three come from the credits guide, which also works through the arithmetic: a search showing 8 Related, 16 People Also Search For, 10 Trending and 20 Long-tail keywords costs 1 + 8 + 16 + 10 + 20 = 55 credits.

Step 4: Bulk-check the list

Click the K icon, open Bulk Keywords Data and paste or import your ideas. You get volume, CPC and competition for all of them at once and can export to CSV or Excel, according to the usage guide. Run Bulk Trends Data on the shortlist for the historical curve; it charges one credit per keyword as well.

Step 5: Read the numbers the way they are built

Search volume is the average monthly searches over the last 12 months, per the FAQ, and it comes from Google Keyword Planner. On YouTube, Amazon and other non-Google sites the extension shows Google's volume, because those sites do not publish their own. Competition is the Google Ads advertiser-competition metric from 0 to 1, not a ranking-difficulty score, per the API documentation. For difficulty, use the separate SEO Difficulty metrics on the Google results page.

Step 6: Check ideas against your own demand

Open your Search Console query report with the extension on. It adds volume, CPC and competition columns and a Visualize view, according to the usage guide. Ideas that already earn impressions are refreshes, not new pages. Mind the cost: a Search Console page showing 500 keywords uses 500 credits each time it loads, per the credits guide.

Step 7: Let an assistant draft the variants, and check them

The MCP server connects ChatGPT, Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor or VS Code to the same data, using your API key or OAuth and the same credits. Ask it for related and People Also Search For keywords, with volumes, for each surviving idea, and to group them by page. A person then opens the top variants in a live Google search with the extension on, rejects any whose results show a different intent from the planned page, and only then adds them to the brief. If your client connects through mcp-remote, the vendor says to use version 0.1.16 or later, because earlier versions had a security vulnerability.

Step 8: Decide and export

Mark each idea yes, no or merge, against the threshold you wrote down before step 4. Export the bulk table and attach it to the content plan, so the decision can be checked later.

A tool paid per keyword displayed earns more from every widget left switched on. The settings in step 3 are the counterweight, and they cost nothing.

What the vendor's own pages warn about

  • Analyze Page Content can burn credits fast. It charges for every keyword found on the page, per the credits guide.
  • Upgrades are charged in full. An upgrade counts as cancelling the old plan and buying the new one; old credits stay valid until a year after purchase, according to the pricing page.
  • Uninstalling does not cancel. Cancel from the subscription details page first, says the FAQ.
  • A thin database outside English. The FAQ calls English its extensive database and lists a short set of locations, so check a few known keywords in your market before trusting gaps.

FAQ

How many credits does one Google search use?

One for the query plus one for every keyword shown in the widgets, so a search with 8 Related and 20 People Also Search For keywords costs 29, per the pricing page. Amazon, eBay and Etsy searches use one.

Is there a monthly plan?

No. All four plans are billed annually and can be cancelled at any time, according to the pricing page, checked on 24 October 2026.

Does Keywords Everywhere track rankings?

No. The API documentation says it is not a rank tracker, and the FAQ points to a separate free Website Ranking Checker that uses the same API key.
