KeySearch vs Keywords Everywhere: Daily Searches or Yearly Credits

The short answer: if you look up a few dozen keywords a week while you write, Keywords Everywhere's Bronze plan covers that for $84 a year (Keywords Everywhere pricing). If you need difficulty checks, a site audit and a rank tracker for a small site, KeySearch's Starter plan does all three for $24 a month, with a daily allowance of 200 keyword searches and room for 80 keywords in its rank tracker (KeySearch pricing). One is a meter in your browser. The other is a small SEO workspace.

Do the sums first:
- Translate credits into lookups. Keywords Everywhere charges one credit per keyword on screen, and its payment FAQ says a Search Console page listing 500 queries uses 500 credits (pricing page). For example, if you open that report once a week, 52 x 500 = 26,000 of Bronze's 100,000 yearly credits go on Search Console alone. KeySearch Starter allows 200 keyword searches every day, whatever they show.
- Start from the tools already open on your screen. Keywords Everywhere adds its numbers to Google, YouTube, Amazon and Search Console pages you already use, as its homepage describes. KeySearch is a separate app you go to, and its auditor checks up to 2,000 pages a month on Starter.
- Decide what you will check in a month. For Keywords Everywhere, the Stats page shows credits used and when each batch expires. For KeySearch, look at whether the 80 keywords you track moved, and whether the audit found anything you then fixed.
How they compare
| KeySearch | Keywords Everywhere | Read on | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it is | A web app for research, audits and tracking | A browser extension for Chrome, Firefox and Edge | KeySearch homepage, Keywords Everywhere homepage |
| Billing | Monthly, or annual at two months free | Annual only | KeySearch pricing, Keywords Everywhere pricing |
| The limit you hit | 200 or 500 keyword searches a day | 100,000 to 8 million credits a year; 1 credit per keyword | Same two pages |
| Rank tracking | 80 or 200 tracked keywords | No tracking in the extension; the vendor offers a free ranking checker as a separate tool | KeySearch pricing, Keywords Everywhere FAQ |
| Site audit | 2,000 or 5,000 pages a month | Not offered; on-page keyword analysis instead | Same two pages |
| People | Team collaboration on Pro | One API key shared by up to 1, 3, 10 or 20 people, by plan | Same two pages |
| Markets | Tracking across languages and locations, per its FAQ | English covered extensively; Global plus seven locations | Same two pages |
| AI features | AI Content Assistant on both plans; Foresight on Pro | Free prompt templates; an MCP server for AI assistants | KeySearch homepage, Keywords Everywhere MCP |
| API | A GET API for lists and difficulty, for internal use | REST API and MCP on the same credits | KeySearch API, Keywords Everywhere MCP |
The free version first
Keywords Everywhere's free features run with no API key: website traffic estimates, Moz link metrics, keyword ideas in the Related and long-tail widgets, and prompt templates, per its homepage. Install it, research for a week without paying, and note how often you wanted the volume figure. Then take KeySearch's 7-day trial for the audit and the tracker, on a week when you have a site change to check.
Where they differ
A daily allowance against a yearly meter
KeySearch resets every day: 200 searches on Starter, 500 on Pro. A heavy research week costs nothing extra, and a quiet week saves nothing. Keywords Everywhere charges per keyword shown, and its credits expire one year after purchase, per its pricing page. Every keyword in the Related, "people also search for" and long-tail widgets on a Google results page costs a credit too, per the same FAQ. Light, steady users come out ahead on the meter; anyone who researches in bursts across big lists comes out ahead on the allowance.
"Competition" does not mean the same thing
Keywords Everywhere's competition figure is a gauge of how many advertisers bid on the keyword in Google Ads, from 0 to 1, and its SEO Difficulty is a separate metric about the top 10 results, per its FAQ. KeySearch builds its research around a difficulty check on the live results for each keyword, with live SERP analysis listed in both plans on its homepage. Read the two side by side and it is easy to take ad competition for ranking difficulty; the FAQ's two definitions keep them apart.
Tracking and auditing live in only one of them
KeySearch's plans include rank tracking and a site auditor; Keywords Everywhere's FAQ says plainly that it does not track rankings over time; its own answer is a free Website Ranking Checker, run apart from the extension on the same API key. If you need a report on your own site every month, KeySearch has it in the plan.
The yearly bill, checked on 24 October 2026
| Plan | How it is billed | Cost per year | Main limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| KeySearch Starter | $24 a month, or $20 a month billed annually | $288 monthly, $240 annual | 200 searches a day, 80 tracked keywords |
| KeySearch Pro | $48 a month, or $40 a month billed annually | $576 monthly, $480 annual | 500 searches a day, 200 tracked keywords, Foresight |
| Keywords Everywhere Bronze | Yearly only | $84 | 100,000 credits, 1 seat |
| Keywords Everywhere Silver | Yearly only | $168 | 400,000 credits, 3 seats |
| Keywords Everywhere Gold | Yearly only | $480 | 2 million credits, 10 seats |
| Keywords Everywhere Platinum | Yearly only | $1,440 | 8 million credits, 20 seats |
USD, from the KeySearch pricing section and the Keywords Everywhere pricing page, checked on 24 October 2026. KeySearch offers a 7-day free trial on its homepage. Keywords Everywhere has no monthly plan; its FAQ says billing a $7 month would cost more in payment fees than it brings in.
Keywords Everywhere also treats an upgrade as a cancellation plus a new purchase at the full price of the higher plan, while keeping the old credits, per the same pricing page. A plan sold by the year in credits is priced to be bought large. Buy the smallest one and move up only when the Stats page shows the meter running out.
An agent step, and the check that goes with it
Keywords Everywhere documents an MCP server that connects Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or VS Code with the same API key and credits as the extension, per its MCP page. A request it lists: related keywords and "people also search for" terms for a seed keyword, with their volumes. Every data call uses credits, about one per keyword returned. The human check: before that list feeds a brief, someone opens the top five results for each candidate in Google and decides whether your page could rank there, because volume says nothing about who already owns the results.

Choose Keywords Everywhere if your job is
- Seeing volume, CPC and trend while you browse Google, YouTube or Amazon.
- Sizing demand for content or ads at a cost of $84 a year on Bronze.
- Pulling keyword data into an AI assistant through MCP.
Entries for both: KeySearch and Keywords Everywhere.
FAQ
Can Keywords Everywhere track my rankings?
Not in the extension. Its FAQ says it does not monitor positions day after day. For that, the same API key works in a free companion tool, Website Ranking Checker, which checks positions daily.
Which one works outside English-speaking markets?
Check both on your own market first. Keywords Everywhere's FAQ names English as its extensive language and lists Global plus seven mostly English-speaking locations. KeySearch's FAQ says it tracks across languages and locations, without listing them.
Can a team share either tool?
Yes, differently. KeySearch puts team collaboration on its Pro plan, per the FAQ on its homepage. Keywords Everywhere lets 1, 3, 10 or 20 people share one API key, depending on the plan, per its pricing page.
