How to Use WebinarJam to Run a Live Sales Webinar

The short answer: a 90-minute sales webinar for a few hundred people needs WebinarJam's Basic plan, because Starter stops every session at 1 hour; Basic gives 500 attendees, 2 hosts and 2 hours for $99 a month billed monthly (WebinarJam pricing, checked on 26 October 2026). The steps: build the webinar in Full configuration so the replay is on, draft the agenda with the AI Agenda Planner and rewrite it, give each channel a UTM link, add a product offer with a countdown, install the two sales tracking codes, run a cloned test, then go live and read the Monetization analytics.

The job: a live session that teaches for an hour, then opens an offer, such as a launch discount on an annual plan, with a countdown in the room. WebinarJam is built for exactly that minute. What it cannot do on the day is fix tracking that was not installed before, so this guide front-loads it. For plans and what the product covers, see the WebinarJam glossary entry.
Before you start:
- The right plan for the running time. Sessions are capped at 1, 2, 3 or 4 hours by plan (pricing FAQ).
- Session Recording switched on in your Profile settings; replays do not work without it (replays).
- Access to the sales page and the thank-you page code, or a page builder with a tracking field, for Step 5.
- The setup WebinarJam recommends: a wired connection, 8 GB of RAM and at least 5 Mbps upstream (pricing FAQ).
Step 1: Create it in Full configuration
Go to Webinars, click + Add webinar and choose Full configuration with a scheduled event type. Express configuration gets you live faster, but it switches the replay off by default; Right Now events send no notification emails at all (configurations and event types). A sales webinar needs both reminders and a replay.
Step 2: Draft the agenda with AI, then rewrite it
This is the agent step. Go to Live > Agenda and click AI Agenda Planner. Enter the duration, topic, target audience and goal, then click Generate agenda; the outline comes back with sections and a suggested time for each, and Replace full agenda writes it into the module, overwriting what was there (agenda).
The human check: the presenter moves the offer to the minute it belongs, cuts sections that cannot be delivered in the time and checks any fact the AI added. WebinarJam's own guidance says to verify AI output and to keep private details out of the prompt. The agenda then shows to presenters and moderators in the Live Room and Control Panel.
Step 3: Give each channel its own registration link
In Webinars, click Your Links, copy the registration link from the Attendees tab and add utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign for each place you will post it (UTM tracking). Two cautions from that article: WebinarJam does not build the tagged links for you, and if someone registers twice with the same email, the latest UTM values overwrite the earlier ones.
Step 4: Build the offer
Edit the webinar, go to the Live step, open Product offers and click Add new offer. Fill in name, headline, button text and button link, then switch on the options you want: urgency shows a countdown that starts when the offer first appears, scarcity shows units left, and real-time sales broadcasts each purchase to the room (product offers). Only one offer shows at a time.
Real-time sales and automatic scarcity both depend on the tracking in the next step. Without it, the room shows no sales.
Step 5: Install the two sales tracking codes
Go to Webinars, click Advanced next to the webinar and open Goal tracking. One code goes on the product page the offer links to, the other on the purchase confirmation page, pasted at the bottom of the page source or into your builder's tracking field. On the confirmation code, set price to the amount collected and currency to yours, such as EUR; a blank or unknown currency is reported as USD (track sales).
The rules that decide what gets counted: codes must be live before the webinar runs, each offer needs its own confirmation page with one code on it, and the attribution cookie lasts 48 hours.
Step 6: Run a cloned live test
A soft test, from Run a test in Webinars, checks the room and controls but saves no analytics, chat or replay. A cloned webinar runs the real flow: registration, emails, offers, replay and sales tracking (test before going live). Buy your own product once through the cloned offer and confirm the sale appears.
Step 7: Go live, open the offer, keep the replay selling
Launch the offer from the room at the agenda's minute. Afterwards, the Replay tab's Replica replay reproduces chat, polls, offers and timing exactly as they happened, and replay page expiration closes the page a set number of hours after the session (replays).
What WebinarJam's guides warn about
- No retroactive tracking. Codes installed after the session record nothing for it.
- Recurring products. The code records one-time payments; for subscriptions you choose the first payment or the instalment total.
- External registration pages cannot be tracked in split tests (analytics).
- The soft test keeps no data, so it proves nothing about tracking.
The insurance, and the number to trust
The panic button reboots a frozen room without dropping attendees, and the support article fences it into Professional and Enterprise (panic button), so that reassurance is sold at $299 a month on monthly billing. The cloned test and a wired connection cost nothing; buy the upgrade only if the session is worth more than the difference.
Monetization analytics report sales from the live room and the replay, conversion rate and earnings per attendee, counting only attendees who entered the room (analytics). Set those figures beside your payment provider's total for the same days: a buyer who comes back on day three falls outside the 48-hour cookie. Later, if you want the webinar's share of revenue checked against what would have sold without it, a causal attribution tool like Causality Engine does it. Disclosure: I founded it.
FAQ
Can the offer run in the replay as well?
Yes. A Replica replay shows offers exactly as they appeared live; a custom video replay does not, but you can add product offers to it separately (replays).
Which buyers came from the webinar?
In Registrants, select the webinar and session and scroll right to the Purchased from live room and Purchased from replay room columns (track sales).
Can I switch off the AI Agenda Planner?
Yes. AI Features is one of the regulatory settings in your account, and when it is disabled the agenda is written by hand (account settings).
