The short answer: if the business needs one website, with a blog, bookings or a shop, build it on Squarespace, from $19 a month billed annually on Basic or $29 on Core (Squarespace pricing, checked on 26 October 2026). Add Leadpages when campaign pages need testing, which starts on its Grow plan at $99 a month, or $79 billed annually, with no traffic cap on any plan (Leadpages pricing). Choose Squarespace if your job is the business's home on the web. Choose Leadpages if your job is campaign pages that are built, tested and retired every few weeks.

Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.

Leadpages was rebuilt as an AI landing page builder: describe the page, refine it by asking, publish it, and from Grow upwards test it, with every plan including the AI editor and an MCP connector for Claude or ChatGPT (Leadpages pricing). It now publishes sites and blogs too, counted by plan. Squarespace is a website for running a business: Form and Newsletter blocks and a contacts panel on every plan, selling from Basic, and pop-ups and form conversion insights from Core (Squarespace pricing). Plenty of small businesses use both, the site on one and the ad pages on the other. The question is whether you need the second.

What to settle on paper:

  1. Two subscriptions against one. For example, Squarespace Core plus Leadpages Grow, both billed annually, cost $29 + $79 = $108 a month, against $29 for Squarespace alone (Squarespace pricing, Leadpages pricing). The $79 buys testing; if you will not test, it buys little the site lacks.
  2. Your campaign calendar. Count the campaign pages you launched last quarter. Leadpages holds 25 pages on Pro and 50 on Business, and unlimited from Grow (Leadpages pricing). Three pages a quarter is a job for the site you have.
  3. Where leads land today. If the CRM is the record, Leadpages sends each submission by webhook or one of 5 active integrations on the first three plans (Leadpages pricing). If the Squarespace contacts panel is the record, a second tool means a second list to reconcile.
  4. Cost per lead by campaign. Ad spend divided by CRM leads carrying that campaign's UTM, for the last three campaigns. Any move has to lower it.

The differences that decide it

A page you test, or a site you run

Leadpages measures what a campaign needs: pages, domains, seats, AI credits, and from Grow the conversion layer of A/B tests, dynamic text replacement, anonymous traffic detection and lead enrichment, then Smart Traffic and heatmaps on Optimize (pricing). Squarespace measures what a business needs: contributors, video hours, card rates from 2.9% + $0.30 down to 2.5% + $0.30, and fees on store and membership sales that fall as plans rise (pricing). Neither tries hard to be the other.

Where testing lives

On Leadpages, a test is a plan feature: Grow runs manual A/B tests with up to 6 variants per page, and Optimize adds multivariate tests and AI routing (pricing). Squarespace's plan comparison lists no testing at any tier; Core and above report form and button conversions, which tell you how a page did, not which version would do better. If nobody on the team will run a test this quarter, that row costs Leadpages its case.

The plans, both billing cycles

Leadpages Business$49$39
Leadpages Grow$99$79

Checked on 26 October 2026 on the Leadpages and Squarespace pricing pages, in USD. Leadpages' page served two versions that day: the one read here opened on Pro at $29, and other loads began at Business, $49, so check which you are shown.

An agent keeps the campaign pages out of search

Campaign pages written for ads can compete in search with the site's own service pages. Leadpages' account MCP signs in with OAuth and includes page tools to list published pages and set each one's meta title, canonical URL and whether search engines may index it.

  1. Connect the account MCP in Claude from the MCP documentation.
  2. Ask for every published page from list_pages, with a proposed setting for each: indexable, not indexable, or canonical to a named Squarespace page. Ask for no changes yet.
  3. The human check: whoever owns SEO marks each row. A page meant to rank stays indexable; a paid-traffic copy of a service page points its canonical URL at the Squarespace original.
  4. Ask the agent to apply only the marked rows with update_page_seo, then open three pages and confirm the settings in the page source.

Start with the site you have

Build the next campaign page on Squarespace with a Form block, which every plan includes, and run one campaign on it (Squarespace pricing). If the cost per lead leaves a question only a test can answer, start Leadpages' 7-day trial, which takes a card at checkout and becomes the paid plan on day 7 unless you cancel (Leadpages FAQ).

Read the lead history row before choosing Leadpages' cheapest plan. Pro keeps form submissions for 30 days and has no lead export, while Business keeps them for as long as you subscribe and exports them as CSV, so the $29 plan only works if every lead leaves for a CRM by webhook the day it arrives, and the plan that keeps your records costs $20 a month more (Leadpages pricing). Connect and test the webhook before the first ad runs.

Choose Leadpages if your job is

  • Campaign pages launched and retired every few weeks, with tests on the ones that matter.
  • Ad traffic in spikes, on plans with no traffic cap.
  • Building and publishing pages from Claude, with a person signing each off.

Choose Squarespace if your job is

  • The business's main website, with a blog, bookings, a shop or memberships.
  • One subscription and one contacts list for a small team.
  • Pages that stay up for years and are meant to rank.

FAQ

Can Leadpages run my whole website?

It can host sites and blogs: 1 site and 1 blog on Pro, 2 of each on Business, 4 sites and 3 blogs on Grow (Leadpages pricing). It has no store, bookings or invoicing on its plan table, which is where Squarespace earns its place.

Does Squarespace offer A/B testing?

Not on the plan comparison read on 26 October 2026. Core and above add form and button conversion insights and promotional pop-ups (Squarespace pricing).

Why does the Leadpages price differ from what I saw?

On 26 October 2026 its pricing page served two versions, one listing Pro at $29 a month above Business and one starting at Business at $49 (Leadpages pricing). Buy from the version you are shown, and keep a dated screenshot.
