NEURONwriter vs Frase: A Scoring Editor or a Publishing Loop

The short answer: if your writers draft every article themselves and want a term list to score against, NEURONwriter does that from $23 a month for 25 documents on Bronze (NEURONwriter pricing, checked on 24 October 2026). If nobody has time to write and you want research, a draft, publishing and decay checks in one place, Frase does that loop from $49 a month month to month for 10 articles (Frase pricing). The question is not which scores better. It is who writes the first draft.
Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.
Do this arithmetic first:
- Price the unit, and notice the units differ. For example, NEURONwriter Silver billed yearly is $450 for 50 documents a month, so $450 / 600 = $0.75 per document; Frase Starter billed yearly is 12 x $39 = $468 for 120 articles, so $3.90 per article, using both pricing pages. A Frase article includes the draft; a NEURONwriter document is the analysis and editor, and the writing is yours or comes from AI credits.
- Start from the CMS you already run. NEURONwriter's WordPress connection starts on Gold at $69 a month, per its WordPress FAQ. Frase publishes to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity or Wix on every plan, per its pricing page. On Webflow or Sanity, that line alone can decide it.
- Count the writers you have. Two people who like writing need an editor. One stretched marketer who needs four articles by Friday needs drafts.
- Pick the measure before the trial. Note last month's clicks and average position for five articles in the Search Console performance report. Whatever either tool scores, those five rows say whether the change worked.

Where the work and the money go
Who writes the first draft
NEURONwriter is built around a person at a keyboard. It reads the 30 top-ranking competitor articles for your keyword and shows, term by term, how often you use each one against a recommended range, colouring each term as unused, in range or overused, per its NLP terms FAQ. Frase is built around a draft that arrives finished. Its quickstart runs from research to brief to article, scored for SEO, GEO and EEAT as it is written. One coaches a writer. The other is the writer, with you as editor.
What a plan unit buys
Because the units differ, the cheaper tool depends on the job. For a team that writes 40 articles a month by hand, NEURONwriter Silver at $45 a month covers 50 documents, while Frase Professional at $129 covers 40 articles with drafts included, on the two pricing pages (NEURONwriter, Frase). If the drafts would otherwise cost a freelancer's fee, Frase is cheaper. If your writers are on payroll anyway, the $84 gap buys nothing they need.
What happens after an article is live
Frase keeps watching. Content Guard flags a live page that loses rank or traffic, drafts the revision and republishes once you approve it, per the Frase docs. NEURONwriter connects Search Console from Gold, which shows how pages perform; deciding what to rewrite stays with you. For a blog with a long tail of older posts losing ground, that monitoring saves the most hours.
Run one keyword through both trials
Both trials need no card. Take one article that slipped from page one:
- Run its text through Frase's free GEO Score Checker, which sits outside the paid plans.
- Run it in NEURONwriter's trial, with Gold features and 3 analyses for 7 days (trial FAQ), and note the missing terms.
- Run the keyword in Frase's 7-day trial (pricing) and read its draft against your article.
If term gaps were the problem, the editor wins. If nobody had time to rewrite, the draft wins.

| NEURONwriter Silver | $45 | $450 a year | 50 documents, 5 projects |
| NEURONwriter Gold | $69 | $690 a year | 75 documents, 10 projects |

| NEURONwriter Diamond | $117 | $1,170 a year | 150 documents, 50 projects |
| Frase Starter | $49 | $39 a month | 10 articles, 1 site |
| Frase Professional | $129 | $103 a month | 40 articles, 5 sites |
| Frase Scale | $299 | $239 a month | 100 articles, 10 domains |
USD, read on 24 October 2026 from the NEURONwriter pricing page, which labels yearly billing as two months free, and the Frase pricing page, which puts the yearly saving at 20%. Frase Enterprise is quoted on request.
A pricing ladder puts the feature you need one rung above the price you came for. NEURONwriter's integrations, API and MCP all start at Gold, two rungs and $46 a month above Bronze on its pricing page, so a WordPress team that budgets for Bronze finds out late. Read the Gold column before the Bronze price.
The scoring step, handed to an agent
NEURONwriter documents an MCP server on Gold and above that lets Claude or Cursor work with its engine, with 11 tools behind it (MCP page). One step of the job: you give the assistant a live URL and a keyword, it creates the analysis and evaluates the page. The FAQ draws a useful line: evaluating scores the content and gives feedback without saving anything, while importing saves the text as a new version in the editor. So the agent evaluates, a person reads the term gaps and decides, and only then does anyone ask it to import. Only creating a new analysis counts against the monthly limit, and the MCP cannot publish to WordPress.
On the Frase side, its MCP guide says Claude asks permission the first time it uses each Frase tool and checks with you before publishing. Keep that check on.
Choose NEURONwriter if your job is
- Scoring articles your own writers draft, at the lowest cost per document.
- Serving many small sites: Diamond covers 50 projects for $117 a month on its pricing page.
- Giving a whole content team access without paying per seat, from Gold.
Choose Frase if your job is
- Getting finished drafts out with one or two people and no freelancers.
- Watching older pages for decay and fixing them on approval.
- Publishing to Webflow, Sanity or Wix without an export step.
Each tool on its own: NEURONwriter and Frase.
FAQ
Can NEURONwriter publish straight to WordPress?
From Gold upward, with a WordPress username and Application Password entered in Project Settings, per the WordPress FAQ. Its MCP server cannot publish; that stays in the web app.
What happens when Frase Starter reaches 10 articles?
It stops at the limit rather than billing more. On Professional and Scale, pay-as-you-go is optional and off by default, per the pricing page.
Which of the two tracks AI answers?
Both, in different depths. NEURONwriter monitors 5 to 20 questions by plan and sells an add-on from $9 a month that adds Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT and Perplexity (pricing). Frase tracks 20 to 75 prompts, on ChatGPT and Google AI from Starter, per its pricing page, checked on 24 October 2026.
