PhantomBuster vs Dripify: Build the List or Run the Sequence

The short answer: if your job is turning LinkedIn activity, a post's commenters or a search, into rows in your CRM, PhantomBuster's Start plan at $69 a month buys 20 hours of run time for any number of users; if your job is a drip sequence of invitations, messages and emails from one rep's profile, Dripify's Pro seat at $79 a month is built for it (monthly billing, PhantomBuster pricing and Dripify pricing, checked on 26 October 2026). Each can do a little of the other's job, but each is designed around its own half. LinkedIn permits neither: its prohibited software page rules out third-party software that scrapes LinkedIn or automates activity on it, and warns that members who use such tools risk having their accounts restricted or shut down.
Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.
Both clauses matter here. Section 8.2 of the User Agreement bars software that scrapes or copies profiles, which is PhantomBuster's core, and bots that send messages or add contacts, which is Dripify's. PhantomBuster's pricing FAQ says it works through your own accounts within platform constraints; that is the vendor's description, not LinkedIn's permission. What follows is for a team that has weighed this and decided to proceed. The route inside the rules, an assistant that drafts while the profile owner sends by hand to people already in your CRM, is set out in LinkedIn outreach with AI drafts.
Count these first:
- Hours against seats. For example, three reps who each want a sequence pay 3 x $79 = $237 a month on Dripify Pro, while the same three can share one PhantomBuster Start plan at $69, since every plan includes unlimited users. One list builder plus one sequencer for one rep costs $69 + $79 = $148 a month (PhantomBuster, Dripify).
- Where the rows should land. PhantomBuster sends results to HubSpot and through n8n, Zapier and Make, per its pricing FAQ. Dripify takes a LinkedIn search URL or a CSV of profile URLs, up to 1,000 people from a free LinkedIn search or 2,475 from Sales Navigator (lead import article). If your CRM is the source of truth, start from what it already holds.
- Rows that become conversations. Of the people a Phantom exports, count how many enter a sequence and how many reply. Measure it on one list before paying for a second tool.

What decides it
You pay for minutes, or for profiles
PhantomBuster charges for execution time, the minutes its automations spend running, and slots, how many run at once. When the hours run out, automations pause until the reset and nothing extra is charged (pricing FAQ). Dripify charges per LinkedIn account and lets that seat run unlimited drip campaigns (pricing page). A team that builds lists centrally and hands them to several reps pays less on PhantomBuster's model; a rep who lives in one sequence pays less on Dripify's.
Collecting people, or working through them
PhantomBuster's automations, called Phantoms, each do one job, and its pages lead with extraction: profile and company data, engagement such as comments and likes, from 15+ platforms (homepage). Dripify starts where a list ends: its builder chains LinkedIn actions, emails and conditions, pauses outreach to anyone who replies and tests message variants on Advanced (What is Dripify). On data, PhantomBuster's FAQ calls it a processor and says compliance depends on how you use what you collect, which leaves the legal basis for every row with you.
The two trials end differently
PhantomBuster's 14 days run every automation but cap exports at 10 rows, so you can judge the data but not take it. Dripify's 7 days run on the Advanced feature set with no card, and when they end nothing is charged; the account simply goes inactive (Dripify pricing FAQ).

The hand-off, done by an agent
Each vendor runs an MCP server, so one assistant can move a list from the first tool to the second. PhantomBuster's lets Claude or ChatGPT launch a Phantom, pull its results and build a filtered lead list in your workspace (MCP docs). Dripify's can then upload up to 1,000 LinkedIn profiles to a campaign as a new lead list, and its help article tells Claude users to set that upload to Needs approval (Dripify MCP article).
Keep the approval on. Before the upload runs, the rep who will send reads the filtered list against the CRM and removes customers, open deals and anyone who has asked not to be contacted. The agent moves the rows; a person decides who is on them.
Choose PhantomBuster if
- Your job is building lists from engagement: commenters, likers, event attendees, search results.
- Several people share the work, since users are unlimited.
- Rows go to a CRM or another sending tool rather than a sequence in the same app.
Choose Dripify if
- Your job is a sequence from one rep's profile, with emails in it.
- You want replies to pick the message, with variants on Advanced.
- Your list already exists in a search or a CSV.
Background on each: the PhantomBuster entry and the Dripify entry.
Free first, then one plan at a time
Start without either. Take the accounts already in your CRM, have an assistant draft the first message for each, and let the profile owner send by hand for two weeks, the route in the LinkedIn outreach use case. If replies come from that, the list was never the problem, and Dripify alone is the question. If the CRM runs dry, PhantomBuster's trial will show you what its rows look like.
Mind the toggle when you get there. PhantomBuster's pricing page opens with Annual selected, so Start first appears at $56 a month, a figure that assumes $672 paid up front: the default view sells a year before you have run a month. The month-to-month price is $69.
Sometimes the list tool and the sequencer both work and the rows still pile up in a CRM that sales does not open. Then neither tool is the bottleneck; the stack and the hand-over are, and a one-week review like the Startup Fixer, which I sell, settles where the list should live before anything else is bought.
FAQ
Can PhantomBuster send LinkedIn messages too?
Yes. Its pricing page lists LinkedIn outreach campaigns and lead warming on every plan, and its homepage describes connection requests, messages, likes and event invites triggered by signals (homepage). Compare its outreach steps with the sequence you plan before relying on it.
What happens to PhantomBuster data if I cancel?
The plan stays active to the end of the period, and the pricing FAQ tells you to export your data before the account closes.
Does Dripify need Sales Navigator to import a search?
No. It works with free LinkedIn accounts, though a free or Recruiter search imports up to 1,000 profiles where Sales Navigator allows 2,475 (lead import article).
