The short answer: if two people need their infographics as PDFs, Piktochart is the cheaper seat: Business costs $17 per member a month billed annually against $24 per user on Venngage Business, and on monthly billing the gap widens to $20 against $49 (Piktochart pricing, Venngage pricing, checked on 26 October 2026). Venngage earns the higher price when the PDF must pass an accessibility review or the charts must stay tied to a spreadsheet. Choose Piktochart if your job is written reports made visual at the lowest cost per head. Choose Venngage if your job is data-heavy documents that readers with screen readers, or auditors, will open.
Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.
These two are close cousins: browser editors for infographics, reports and one-pagers, each with an AI that drafts from your material. The differences sit in the source file each AI prefers, in accessibility, and in how the bill moves when you pay month to month.
Three checks, in this order:
- Two seats, both billing cycles. For example, two Business seats come to $408 a year on Piktochart (2 x $17 x 12) or $40 a month paid monthly, and to $576 a year on Venngage (2 x $24 x 12) or $98 a month paid monthly, per the Piktochart and Venngage pricing pages.
- The file you start from. If it is a long Word report, Piktochart's Pikto AI keeps your wording when Preserve Content is on (Preserve Content article). If it is a spreadsheet, Venngage's generator accepts CSV and Excel files alongside PDF and Word (AI infographic generator).
- The number that proves the PDF is finished. For a public or HR audience, count the issues Venngage's accessibility check flags on your final file and get it to zero. For a social graphic, read the views on the published visual a week later.
The plan ladder
| Rung | Piktochart | Venngage |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Unlimited projects, 2 PNG downloads in total, 60 AI credits | 5 designs, public-link sharing, 80 daily AI credits |
| First paid plan, annual or monthly | Pro, $10 or $15 per member: unlimited PNG, 500 AI credits a month | Premium, $10 or $19: PNG and HD PNG, 160 daily AI credits |
| PDF and PowerPoint | Business, $17 or $20 per member, with a brand kit and 1,000 AI credits a month | Business, $24 or $49 per user, with brand kits and 1,600 daily AI credits |
| Large organisations | Enterprise, custom pricing, 101 members and up, SSO | Enterprise, from $499 a month, 10 members minimum |
Sources, read on 26 October 2026: the Piktochart pricing page and the Venngage pricing page. Venngage caps its daily credits at 4,800 a month on Premium and 48,000 on Business.
How they differ in use
Which file each AI starts from
Pikto AI wants text: a TXT, DOCX or text-based PDF under 10MB, one file at a time (upload article). Charts inside that file come through as images you cannot edit (Preserve Content article). Venngage's generator takes a prompt plus a CSV, Excel sheet, PDF or Word file, and every chart it builds stays editable: click it to change the data or upload a new CSV (AI infographic generator). Words first, Piktochart. Numbers first, Venngage.
Accessibility as a product, not a setting
Venngage documents a PDF workflow built for accessibility: automatic tagging of headings, tables and lists, a contrast checker that reports AA or AAA, AI-written alt text, a visual simulator and an accessibility checker that flags reading order and missing tags before download (accessible PDF page). None of the Piktochart pages read for this comparison describe an equivalent. If your organisation publishes reports to the public, that page is the reason to pay more.
How the AI is metered
Piktochart gives each member a monthly allowance that the workspace pools, and a document summary costs 3 credits (credits article). Venngage counts credits per day, up to a monthly ceiling (pricing). A team that touches visuals every day gets the most from a daily allowance; one that saves its AI work for a single monthly report gets more from Piktochart's pooled month.
Price per person, per month
On annual billing the entry plans tie at $10. The difference opens one rung up, $17 for Piktochart Business against $24 for Venngage Business, and on monthly billing it becomes $20 against $49 (Piktochart pricing, Venngage pricing, checked on 26 October 2026). Piktochart's FAQ adds that it does not generally refund payments.
One AI step: a survey spreadsheet to an accessible PDF
In Venngage's AI infographic generator, describe the piece ("a two-page summary of the customer survey for the annual report"), attach the Excel export of the survey, and let the AI choose layout and chart types (AI infographic generator). Refine by conversation: ask it to shorten the copy or switch a pie chart to bars.
Then the person who owns the survey takes over. They click each chart and compare its values with the sheet, rewrite any AI alt text that describes a chart's colours instead of its finding, and run the accessibility check until it reports nothing outstanding (accessible PDF page). Only then is the PDF downloaded, which on Venngage needs Business. The Piktochart route to the same report is the document upload, converted step by step in how to use Piktochart; a wrong figure in a preserved chart has to be fixed in the source file and converted again.
The struck-through price
Venngage's pricing page opens on its yearly tab, where Business reads $24 next to a crossed-out $49 (Venngage pricing). The $49 looks like the old price of a sale. It is the current price on monthly billing, and the yearly tab is a twelve-month commitment taken at the moment the discount looks largest. If your project lasts three months, the arithmetic is 3 x $49 = $147 against 12 x $24 = $288: monthly wins.
Test both on the free plans
Build the same one-page visual from the same source in both. Piktochart Free allows two PNG downloads over the life of the account (free plan article); Venngage Free allows five designs shared by public link (pricing). Show both to the person who signs the report off, and ask which one they would send.
Choose Piktochart if your job is long reports, policies and survey write-ups turned into visuals by a team paying per head, with PDF on the cheaper Business seat.
Choose Venngage if your job is data-driven reports whose charts must stay editable from a spreadsheet and whose PDFs must pass an accessibility review before publication.
Piktochart's plans, credits and limits are set out in the Piktochart entry; against Visme, the download format decides it, as Piktochart vs Visme shows.
FAQ
Can I download from Venngage's free plan?
Its free card lists public sharing, while PNG and HD PNG exporting appear first on Premium, at $10 a month billed yearly (Venngage pricing). PDF and PowerPoint need Business.
What does Venngage Enterprise cost?
From $499 a month with a minimum of 10 members, adding a dedicated account manager, multi-factor authentication and live onboarding sessions, per the pricing page.
Which tool keeps AI-built charts editable?
Venngage: its generator's charts open for data edits or a new CSV (AI infographic generator). Piktochart preserves charts from an uploaded document visually, and its help article says they are not editable in the editor (Preserve Content article).
