Visme vs Gamma: Data-Driven Reports or Web-Style Decks

The short answer: if the deck will be read on a screen and never projected, you are choosing a web page builder, and Gamma is built for that: one request can produce several pages under a single link for a proposal or sales room, and Pro publishes to up to 10 of your own domains (Gamma MCP docs, Gamma plans, checked on 26 October 2026). Visme fits when the piece must carry charts fed from a data source, a form and PowerPoint or HTML5 downloads, which start on Business at US$24.75 per person a month billed yearly (Visme pricing). Choose Gamma if your job is persuasive reading. Choose Visme if your job is reporting.

Work it out on paper first:
- A credit budget for Gamma. Gamma's own developer illustration puts a 10-card deck with 5 basic images at about 20 to 60 credits (access and pricing). For example, at 60 credits a deck, Plus's 1,000 monthly credits cover 16 decks, and unused plan credits roll over up to twice the plan size (credits article). Visme's Business plan lists 500 AI credits a month (pricing).
- What you bring in. Gamma imports PowerPoint and Word files up to 200 MB, PDFs up to 100 MB, webpages, Google Drive files and public Notion docs (import article). Visme starts from your numbers: charts read from Google Sheets, Excel, Google Analytics, Smartsheet or SurveyMonkey (chart import guide).
- What "read" means to you. Gamma's analytics show slides viewed, time per slide and unique viewers over 30 days in full on Pro and above, and a link pasted into Slack or email can register as an anonymous viewer who saw nothing (analytics article). Visme Business reports views, unique visits and completion (analytics guide). Decide which number you will act on before the first send.

How they differ in use
Writing first, or data first
Gamma starts from words: a prompt, a brief, an imported document, and it lays them out as cards that read well on a phone. Visme starts from structure and numbers: a template, a chart connected to a sheet, a form that collects answers. A proposal that has to persuade a buyer leans to Gamma. A monthly performance report that has to be right leans to Visme.
Where the finished piece lives
A gamma is usually a link, sometimes on your own domain. A Visme project is published as a link too, but it also leaves as files: PowerPoint, HTML5, video. If procurement or a client's intranet needs a file, Visme's Business downloads cover more cases (pricing).
Prices that could be read
Checked on 26 October 2026:
- Gamma. The pricing page answered automated readers with a bot check that day, so Plus and Pro prices are not given here. The help centre lists Free, Plus, Pro, Ultra and Business, with 1,000 credits a month on Plus and 4,000 on Pro, and gives Business as $40 per member a month billed annually (Business article).
- Visme. Starter is $12.25 a month per person billed yearly ($147) or $29 monthly; Business is $24.75 billed yearly ($297) or $59 monthly; Enterprise is quoted from 10 users (pricing page).
A proposal site generated by agent
Gamma's hosted MCP server, at https://mcp.gamma.app/mcp, works on every plan and can generate a multi-page gamma: several distinct pages under one URL in a single request, which its documentation suggests for sales rooms, proposal sites and microsites (Gamma MCP docs). Connect Gamma in Claude, then give it the brief: one page each for the summary, the approach, the team, the price and the next steps, with the source document for each. The generation spends credits; reading the result and exporting it as PDF or PPTX for procurement does not.
The human check comes before the link exists outside the team. The account lead reads every page against the quote and the source documents, fixes wording through the editor or an agent edit (edits change existing pages and cannot add new ones), and sets the sharing permissions last. Visme's route is different: Claude writes the deck and Visme's own connector imports it as an editable project, as described in Visme vs Canva.
The badge on the free tier
On Gamma's Free plan, content you share or export carries a "Made with Gamma" badge, and Plus is the first plan that removes it (plans article). Every free proposal is therefore an advert for the vendor, seen by your prospect before your logo. Test on Free; send to clients from Plus.
The free route first
Gamma's Free plan starts with 400 credits and up to 10 slides per prompt, no card needed (credits article). Visme has a free plan too, though one version of its pricing page shown that day allowed drafts only, with no sharing or downloads (pricing). Build the same piece in both: last quarter's proposal in Gamma, last month's report in Visme. Whichever piece your reader would open twice tells you which job you have.
- Choose Gamma if your job is proposals, sales rooms and decks that are read on screens, generated from briefs and published as links or on your own domain.
- Choose Visme if your job is branded reports, infographics and decks built on data, with forms, analytics and file downloads for people who need files.

FAQ
Can a gamma become a PowerPoint file?
Yes. Gamma exports to PDF, PPTX or PNG, and through the MCP server an export does not use credits (Gamma MCP docs).
Can Visme publish on my own domain?
A custom sub-domain is listed on Visme's Enterprise plan (pricing). Gamma lists 10 custom domains on Pro and 100 on Business (Business article).
Why does my gamma show views from people who saw nothing?
Link previews in Slack, iMessage or email can appear as an Anonymous Viewer, usually with 0 slides viewed, per Gamma's analytics article. Leave them out of any engagement figure you report.
