The short answer: if the finished deck has to sit on your company's PowerPoint slide master, generate it where the master already lives: Plus AI works inside PowerPoint and Google Slides, from $10 per user a month on annual billing (Plus AI pricing, checked on 26 October 2026). Gamma builds in its own editor and exports to PowerPoint, and its export guide says the exported file carries no slide master layout (Gamma export guide). That costs nothing when the deck is read as a link or a web page, which is what Gamma is built for. Choose Plus AI if your job is on-template .pptx files. Choose Gamma if your job is decks, documents and pages people read on a screen.

Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.

People search this pair because both draft a deck from a prompt. They part at the file: Plus AI leaves you with your own presentation, Gamma with a gamma that can become a presentation.

The questions, in order:

  1. Five seats, priced. For example, five people on Gamma Business pay 5 x $40 x 12 = $2,400 a year, billed annually per member (Gamma Business article), against 5 x $30 x 12 = $1,800 on Plus AI Team or 5 x $20 x 12 = $1,200 on Plus AI Pro (Plus AI pricing).
  2. The decks you already have. Gamma's importer takes .pptx and .docx files of up to 200 MB and keeps their layouts editable (import article). Plus AI uploads a file on Pro or Team and can recast an existing presentation into a Plus AI template (upload guide).
  3. Files or links, last quarter. Count the decks your team sent as attachments and those sent as links. Mostly attachments points to Plus AI; mostly links, to Gamma.

From the Plus AI pricing page and MCP guide, and Gamma's export guide, plans article, Business article and MCP setup, read on 26 October 2026.

Where the two part

Who owns the layout

In Plus AI, the layout belongs to your presentation: it inserts, rewrites and remixes slides in the file you have open. In Gamma, the layout belongs to Gamma's theme until you export, and then each slide carries its styling while PowerPoint's Slide Master stays blank (export guide). If a colleague will later add slides from the corporate master, a Plus AI deck already sits inside that master; a Gamma export does not.

What leaves the building

Gamma treats the deck as one of several outputs: the same content can be a document or a web page, published on your own domains, 10 of them on Pro and 100 on Ultra or Business (plans article). Plus AI's output is a presentation file. A buyer who reads your proposal on a phone is served by Gamma; a procurement team that wants an attachment is served by Plus AI.

Prices on 26 October 2026

Plus AI, per user per month: Basic $10, Pro $20, Team $30, Max $200 on annual billing; $15, $25, $40 and $240 month to month (Plus AI pricing). Gamma's pricing page sits behind a Cloudflare check that stopped automated reading on 26 October 2026, so its Plus, Pro and Ultra prices are missing here. Business, its help centre says, is $40 a member each month on annual billing; Plus, Pro and Ultra carry 1,000, 4,000 and 20,000 credits a month; and annual plans run 28% below monthly ones (plans article). Open the pricing page in a browser before you budget.

One brief, both MCP servers

Both vendors run a hosted MCP server you can add to Claude. Plus AI's (https://mcp.plusai.com/) is open to Pro and Team accounts through Microsoft or Google sign-in; it takes a prompt or a data source and answers with a link to download the .pptx (MCP guide). Gamma's (https://mcp.gamma.app/mcp) connects on any plan; generate spends credits, while export_gamma to PPTX does not (MCP setup). Give both the same brief, a ten-slide quarterly business review, and download both files.

The check happens in PowerPoint, by the person who will present. Open each file on top of the company template, look at View, Slide Master, and add one slide from the master to see whether it matches. Then read every figure against the brief, and check the speaker notes, which Gamma's export includes. If the deck states results or prices to a customer, give it the figure-by-figure check from the sales deck use case before it goes anywhere.

Corrections cost credits too

Gamma's credits article says a completed AI action uses credits even when the result is not what you wanted, that asking the AI to fix it is a new action that uses more, and that Gamma does not yet show how many credits a given gamma used (credits article). A draft repaired by prompting is paid for twice, and that is how a monthly allowance runs out before the month does, ahead of a top-up or an upgrade. Manual edits use no credits, so fix wording by hand and keep prompts for structure.

Test before paying

Gamma's Free plan needs no card and starts with 400 credits that do not refresh, with up to 10 slides per prompt (plans article). Plus AI has no free plan; its 7-day trial needs a card and charges it when the trial ends (billing guide). So run the brief in Gamma Free first, export it, and do the Slide Master test above. If the export holds up, you may not need the trial.

Choose Plus AI if your job is on-template PowerPoint or Google Slides files, edited afterwards by people who live in those apps.

Choose Gamma if your job is presentations, documents and pages read on screens and shared as links, where the file is a by-product.

Plus AI's plans, credits and agent are in the Plus AI entry. For Gamma against other deck tools, see Visme vs Gamma and Decktopus vs Gamma.

FAQ

Does a Gamma export keep my PowerPoint slide master?

No. Gamma's export guide says PowerPoint and Google Slides exports include no slide master layout; the styling is applied to each slide instead. Tables export as editable tables by default.

Can Plus AI generate from my company's real template?

On Enterprise. Plus AI's pricing FAQ says custom templates built from your organisation's slides and slide masters are set up through an Enterprise plan, while Team saves your logo, colours and fonts (Plus AI pricing).

Does exporting from Gamma through an agent cost credits?

No. Gamma's MCP documentation says generations, edits and images charge credits, while reading, searching and exporting do not (MCP setup).
