The short answer: if your five-person team signs contracts it already writes in Word or Google Docs, SignWell Light covers all five senders for $50 a month billed annually, with unlimited documents and bulk send; PandaDoc Starter costs $95 a month for the same five, keeps reusable templates to five and leaves bulk send out. Figures checked on 26 October 2026 on SignWell's pricing page and PandaDoc's plan comparison. Choose PandaDoc when the document has to be written, priced and negotiated inside the tool, or when an EU signer must sign at the qualified level.

What your month already tells you:

  1. Five senders, two price models. For example, SignWell Light is 5 x $10 = $50 a month billed annually, and SignWell Business is $30 for three senders plus 2 x $12 = $54 with unlimited templates; PandaDoc Starter is 5 x $19 = $95 and Business 5 x $49 = $245, per the SignWell and PandaDoc pages checked on 26 October 2026.
  2. This week's documents, on the free tiers. SignWell Free sends 3 documents a month from one sender; PandaDoc's Free eSign plan sends 5 a month with up to 2 recipients each. Put this week's real NDAs through both. A three-party agreement does not fit PandaDoc's free tier at all.
  3. The edit count. For one month, note how many documents changed after they were sent for signature. If the answer is often, the document is being negotiated, and PandaDoc's editor is solving a real problem for you; if it is rarely, you need a signing tool.

PandaDoc changes where the document is made. SignWell starts from a file you upload, places fields and sends it, with templates for anything repeated. PandaDoc gives you an editor with themes, variables, pricing tables and a quote builder from Business, approval order, and redlining as a paid add-on or on Enterprise, so the contract can be drafted and signed in one place.

Where they differ in daily use

Sending to many people at once

SignWell lists bulk send and template links on Light and above, per its pricing table, so one sender can push a contractor agreement to a whole list or post a signing link on a web page. PandaDoc marks bulk send as a paid add-on on Business and Enterprise, and each document a bulk send creates draws one usage credit, per its billing article.

What a qualified signature involves

PandaDoc's QES article sets the rules: QES is switched on per document before sending, signing order is forced, CC'd recipients and signature forwarding are not supported, and a document cannot be sent without credits in the account. Each unique signer uses one $5 credit, checked on 26 October 2026. SignWell names no qualified option, so a contract that needs that level goes elsewhere.

How flexible the bill is

SignWell charges per sender, never per signer, with unlimited documents on paid plans and no contract, per its pricing FAQ. PandaDoc charges per user seat, and its billing article allows a team on monthly billing to move up to a paid plan for a busy month and back down to Free eSign in a quiet one, with each change taking effect at the end of the billing cycle.

Two price lists, checked on 26 October 2026

SignWell's pricing page, checked on 26 October 2026, allows one sender, one template and three documents a month on the free plan. Light costs $10 per sender a month on yearly billing ($12 month to month), with five templates each; Business is $30 a month on yearly billing ($36 monthly) for three senders, plus $12 ($15) per extra sender, with unlimited templates; Enterprise is quoted for teams of 50 or more.

PandaDoc's help centre lists four plans in its plan comparison, checked on 26 October 2026: Free eSign at no cost; Starter at $19 a user a month on yearly billing, $35 month to month; Business at $49, or $65; and Enterprise priced on request. The pricing page on pandadoc.com could not be read that day because a bot check refused the request, so these are the help centre's figures.

One AI step that starts as a draft

The SignWell MCP server goes into Claude Desktop under Settings, Connectors, by pasting an API key, and also runs in Claude Code and Cursor. Ask it to send your NDA template to a new supplier contact in the Counterparty role. It creates a draft in SignWell; nothing is emailed until you confirm, according to the same page. The person who owns the supplier relationship opens the draft, checks the name, entity and dates, and sends. SignWell's API pricing gives 25 free API documents a month before charging from $0.85 each, checked on 26 October 2026, so ask SignWell whether drafts created this way count before you hand an assistant real volume.

Choose SignWell if your job is

  • Signing agreements written elsewhere, from a few senders, at a price that does not move with volume.
  • Sending one contract to many recipients, or posting a signing link on your website.
  • Keeping a free plan for a colleague who sends three documents a month.

Choose PandaDoc if your job is

  • Writing, pricing and negotiating proposals and contracts in the same tool that collects the signature.
  • Getting EU signers to sign at the qualified level, paying per signer.
  • Sending five documents a month or fewer for free, with up to two recipients each.

Free before paid

Both free tiers are enough to settle the question: run this week's documents through each. PandaDoc sells its qualified signatures as $5 credits, and its QES article, checked on 26 October 2026, says purchased credit packages expire when the current billing cycle ends, so a pack bought for one deal and left unused becomes PandaDoc's revenue rather than your balance. Buy credits per contract, not in advance.

FAQ

Can I drop PandaDoc back to the free plan in a quiet month?

On monthly billing, yes. PandaDoc's billing article describes upgrading for busy months and returning to Free eSign for quieter ones, effective at the end of the billing cycle.

Can SignWell send from a template link on my website?

Yes, on Light and above. SignWell's pricing table lists template links on the paid plans, and signing links on every plan, the free one included.

Which of the two offers a qualified electronic signature?

PandaDoc does, for $5 a signer, as a paid extra on its Business and Enterprise plans, according to the QES article checked on 26 October 2026. SignWell's pages name none.
