The short answer: for 25 client accounts the deciding number is your head count. With six staff, SocialPilot Premium costs $100 a month on monthly billing with 6 team members and unlimited client seats included, while RecurPost's Agency plan comes to $79 + 5 x $4 + 3 x $20 = $159 (SocialPilot pricing file, RecurPost pricing, checked on 26 October 2026). With three staff, RecurPost is $99 against $100, and with fewer accounts the gap grows in its favour whenever clients must approve, which on SocialPilot means Premium. Choose SocialPilot when clients review every post from an email link; choose RecurPost when most of the calendar is a library of evergreen posts that repeats.
Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.
Both are agency schedulers priced by social account, which is why the bills sit so close. They differ in what the bundle carries. SocialPilot packs more people into each tier and gives clients a role of their own. RecurPost keeps the tiers small, charges $20 for each extra teammate, and spends its design effort on libraries: posts filed once and published again on a schedule.
Three numbers from your current setup:
- Staff who log in, against accounts you run. For example, four staff on 25 accounts pay SocialPilot Premium $100 and RecurPost $79 + 5 x $4 + 1 x $20 = $119; with two staff RecurPost is $99, on the SocialPilot and RecurPost price lists. The fourth person is where the order flips.
- How clients sign off today. If approval runs through email threads now, both tools replace that with a link the client opens without a login: SocialPilot from Premium, RecurPost on Agency. List which clients must approve every post and which only want to see the month.
- Missed slots. Count posts that failed or published late last month, client by client. That is the baseline a new scheduler has to beat.
What a monthly budget buys
| Budget | SocialPilot | RecurPost |
|---|---|---|
| $25 to $30 | Essentials, $30: 7 accounts, 1 user; no analytics, inbox or approvals | Personal, $25: 5 accounts, 1 user, inbox, analytics, post variations, seasonal libraries |
| About $50 | Standard, $50: 15 accounts, 3 users, inbox, analytics, manager approval | Personal and 6 extra accounts, $49: 11 accounts, 1 user |
| $80 to $100 | Premium, $100: 25 accounts, 6 users, unlimited client seats, client approval, white-label reports, CSV upload | Agency, $79: 20 accounts, 3 users, client workspaces, approvals, white-label reports |
| About $200 | Ultimate, $200: 50 accounts, unlimited users | Agency and 30 extra accounts, $199: 50 accounts, 3 users |
Monthly billing in USD from SocialPilot's pricing file and RecurPost's pricing page, checked on 26 October 2026; the sums with extra accounts are mine. Both charge $4 a month for each extra account. Extra users cost $5 at SocialPilot and $20 at RecurPost.
Where the two part
Who takes a seat
SocialPilot's Premium tier separates clients from staff: clients who view, comment and approve sit in unlimited client seats, and the 6 team member places go to the people who build posts. RecurPost has no client seat as such. Its client review happens through a shareable link, and anyone who works inside the account is a user, three on Agency and $20 a month after that (RecurPost pricing). An agency with a stable team of three loses nothing on RecurPost; one that brings in freelancers every quarter pays for each of them.
When a client goes quiet
SocialPilot leaves the decision with the manager. Its approval guide says sending a post to the client is the manager's choice, that the client approves from an Approve On-the-Go link sent by email, and that posts written by a manager or admin go straight to the queue. RecurPost builds the deadline into the workflow: a stage can carry a timeout, alerts go to the assigned roles at 50% and 80% of the allowed time, and an overdue post escalates or reschedules, with the Account Manager able to approve on the client's behalf and the approval logged (approval page). For a client whose contract says nothing publishes without their yes, leave the timeout unset.
Repeating what already worked
SocialPilot lists repeat posts and a content library on every plan, and pulls from 5, 10, 15 or 20 RSS sources by tier. RecurPost's libraries go further: one-time, recurring and seasonal types, caption variations that rotate, and a single edit that changes the link or call to action across every post in a library (recycling page). The catch is in the approval page: the workflow covers one-off posts, so library posts publish without passing a review stage.
Prices on both billing cycles
SocialPilot, per month: Essentials $30, Standard $50, Premium $100 and Ultimate $200 on monthly billing, or $25.50, $42.50, $85 and $170 on annual billing, about 15% less (pricing file). RecurPost, per month: Starter $9, Personal $25 and Agency $79 on monthly billing, or $7.50, $20.83 and $65.83 billed yearly, two months free (RecurPost pricing). Both checked on 26 October 2026; both offer a 14-day trial without a card.
One AI step: location posts drafted in a chat
RecurPost's MCP server is a free, open-source package that runs on your own machine with an API Password Key you can revoke, and works on every plan. Its own example is a Google Business Profile Offer post, with coupon code, redemption link and end date, scheduled for six locations from one Claude conversation. Ask the assistant for that, with a separate caption per location and a date and time on every post. Then a person opens each location's post in the RecurPost calendar and checks the code, the dates and the address before the slot arrives. SocialPilot's pricing file lists its own MCP server on all paid plans, for creating, drafting and scheduling posts within the connected user's permissions.
Choose SocialPilot if
- Your job is publishing for clients who review every post from an email, while four or more staff build them.
- You want analytics, an inbox and manager approval in one $50 tier for a small team.
- Freelancers and clients come and go, and only the people who build posts should cost money.
Choose RecurPost if
- Your job is keeping 20 or more accounts active from evergreen and seasonal libraries, with a team of three or fewer.
- You want the inbox and analytics from the $25 plan up.
- Stalled client approvals should escalate on a clock rather than wait.
Baseline first, then two real clients
The missed-slot count from the list above is free and is the number to beat. Then run one client through each trial, and send that client one approval link from each tool. More on SocialPilot's approval mechanics is in SocialPilot vs Buffer.
RecurPost's MCP page sells a five-minute setup and scheduling from a chat, and its post tool publishes at once whenever a request carries no time, per the same MCP page. That default favours a fast first post over a checked one, so put a date in every request and keep the key revocable.
FAQ
Can clients approve without logging in on both?
Yes. SocialPilot sends approvers an Approve On-the-Go link by email from Premium up, and RecurPost's client review stage on Agency uses a shareable link with no client account.
How many users does each include?
SocialPilot includes 1, 3, 6 or unlimited team members by tier, plus unlimited client seats from Premium. RecurPost includes 1 user on Starter and Personal and 3 on Agency, then $20 a month per teammate.
Does either connect to Claude?
Both. RecurPost's MCP package works on every plan, and SocialPilot's pricing file lists its MCP server on all paid plans.
