AdAlign vs VWO: Testing What Wins or Checking What Matches

Test two pages fed by a mismatched ad and the winner is the less broken one. If your Meta and Google Ads spend stays under €75,000 a month and nobody re-checks whether each live ad still matches the page it opens, AdAlign is the pick. Its Growth band starts at €590 a month on an annual contract billed monthly, and scores every live ad against its landing page (AdAlign pricing, checked on 27 October 2026). Score one ad with the free audit before anything else. VWO, which now trades as Wingify after joining AB Tasty, is the pick when the job is choosing between two versions of a page, with statistics behind the choice.
Disclosure: I earn a commission if you buy AdAlign through a link on this page, and this page recommends it. Every claim about AdAlign links to AdAlign's own pages.
What to settle before either sales call:
- What the first months cost. For example, on AdAlign's Scale band at €1,290 a month, the €1,500 pilot fee covers the first invoice and €210 of the second (1,500 minus 1,290 = 210). The fee comes off the first invoices in full if you continue (pricing). Wingify publishes no figure to set beside it: every plan is a custom proposal (Wingify pricing).
- The traffic numbers you already hold. Wingify quotes on monthly active users, so bring twelve months of that figure. AdAlign's band comes from your average monthly ad spend over the last 12 months, or 90 days for a newer account, which last year's Meta and Google invoices already show (pricing).
- One reading that tells you which problem you have. Audit the ad that sends the most traffic to the page you plan to test. Below 5 out of 10 is where AdAlign starts counting spend at risk (how it works). If the pair fails there, fix the match before a test spends weeks of traffic on the page.
The two tools stand on either side of the same click. Wingify works on the page: which version converts more of the people who arrive. AdAlign works on the hand-off: whether the page continues the ad someone tapped. When the hand-off is broken, both versions in the test break the same promise. Which of last quarter's winners won that way?
On each vendor's own pages
| AdAlign | VWO, sold as Wingify | |
|---|---|---|
| What it reads | Live Meta and Google ads, creatives, destination URLs and spend, through read-only OAuth (how it works) | Visitors on your site, split into a control and variations (Wingify pricing) |
| Unit of work | One ad-to-page pair, scored out of 10 on four dimensions (how it works) | One campaign: A/B/n, split URL or multivariate (Wingify pricing) |
| Price basis | Flat band on monitored ad spend (pricing) | Proposal on monthly active users (pricing FAQ) |
| First step without paying | Single-ad audit, no account needed (audit) | 30 days free, no credit card (trial page) |
| Editing the page | Variants, in beta: text-only drafts of headline, body and call to action, published through the AdAlign tag with a holdout (how it works) | Visual and code editors, unlimited experiments and variations on Growth (Wingify pricing) |
| After launch | Monitored pages re-checked daily, flagged Stable, Pending or Drifted (how it works) | Test data kept 13 months; behaviour analytics 30, 60 or 90 days by tier (pricing FAQ) |
Three places they part ways
A winner is not a match
Wingify's report answers one question well: did a variation beat the control on your goal. It answers it with statistics. But nothing in it compares the page with the ad that brought each visitor. That is not a lapse in your testing discipline. The report was never built to ask about the ad. AdAlign's score does only that comparison, on visual match, message match, above-the-fold continuity and tone. It names the weakest of the four, so the fix has an address (how it works). The weights move by placement: on Google Search, message match and above-the-fold continuity carry 70% between them.
Neither number replaces the other. They measure different failures.
Who changes the page
AdAlign's fix layer is narrow on purpose. Variants, in beta and behind the AdAlign tag, drafts text for three slots and holds back 50% of matching visitors by default. It reports lift once each arm has 100 visitors, and pauses itself if the page changes underneath (how it works). No images, no colours. Wingify is built to change pages: visual and code editors, multivariate tests, and on Pro, sample ratio mismatch detection and guardrail metrics (Wingify pricing). A new hero image is a Wingify job.
What gets watched once the test ends
A test ends. The page keeps changing. A promo expires, the web team rewrites the hero. AdAlign re-checks monitored pages every day and sends low-score and score-drop alerts to email or Slack (how it works). Its own disclaimer tells you to test its recommendations against current performance before a full rollout (disclaimer). That is the plainest statement on either site that these tools belong together.
Prices, side by side
Read on 27 October 2026 from the AdAlign pricing page and the Wingify pricing page.
| Band or tier | AdAlign, annual contract billed monthly | Wingify Web Experimentation |
|---|---|---|
| Entry | Growth, from €590 a month, up to €75,000 monthly ad spend | Growth: quote on monthly active users |
| Middle | Scale, from €1,290 a month, €75,000 to €250,000 | Pro: quote |
| Upper | Portfolio, from €2,490 a month, €250,000 to €750,000 | Enterprise: quote |
| Above that | Enterprise, custom | Bundles and multi-year terms discounted |
AdAlign's prices exclude VAT and include unlimited seats and ad accounts. They run 20% higher month to month, cancellable on 30 days' notice (pricing). Wingify's bill grows with the monthly active users it tests. So a split test on a page that a mismatched ad feeds is billed traffic for Wingify, whether either version keeps the ad's promise or not.
Running both, with an agent between them
The two products do not integrate. An agent that calls both an HTTP API and an MCP server can carry a finding across:
- AdAlign flags the page. On Scale, the agent lists the fixes for an evaluation through
GET /api/fixes(developers). - The agent drafts a split URL test from the fix with Wingify's Create Split URL Test tool (MCP guide).
- A person checks the draft against the ad and the fix, then starts it. Update Campaign Status is one of Wingify's write tools, so whatever permission level you grant on the authorisation screen, keep the start a human step.
Choose AdAlign if
- Your job is knowing, every day, which live ads send money to a page that no longer matches them.
- You need pages ranked by what their mismatches cost, for a web team to work down.
- You want one price for the whole team, set by ad spend rather than seats.
Choose VWO if
- Your job is deciding between page versions with statistics: A/B/n, split URL or multivariate.
- The fix is layout, imagery or flow, which AdAlign's text-only Variants leave alone.
- You want heatmaps, recordings and tests under one contract.
Often the answer is both. Keep Wingify to test the page, and add AdAlign to check that every ad still matches it.
Start free, then decide
Spend nothing first. Run the free audit on the ad behind your busiest test page; a free account adds the four-dimension breakdown and 5 audits a month. Wingify's 30-day trial covers the test side. If the audit shows scores below 5 on ads that spend, AdAlign, which pays me a commission, is the next step. Book the demo, where one ad account is connected read-only and scored on the call. Then the paid pilot, then a band from the pricing page. Background on the product is in the AdAlign glossary entry.
FAQ
Does AdAlign replace a testing tool?
No. Its Variants beta, on Scale and above, covers text-only copy with a holdout lift readout (pricing). Layout and multivariate tests belong in Wingify.
Is VWO still sold under its own name?
The address vwo.com now opens wingify.com, where a banner says AB Tasty and VWO have united (Wingify homepage).
What does AdAlign keep from my ads?
Ad content and landing page data are stored, anonymised, to build industry benchmarks, and are not shared with third parties. On SOC 2, the FAQ says AdAlign is working toward it (FAQ). Wingify lists data centres in the US, the EU and India (Wingify pricing).
