AdAlign vs Convert: Find the Mismatch, Then Test the Fix

Five slots. Convert's Growth plan runs 5 active experiences per project (Convert pricing, checked on 27 October 2026), so the scarce thing on that plan is deciding what fills them. AdAlign is the pick for that decision. It scores every live Meta and Google ad against its landing page and ranks the pages by spend at risk. Pricing starts at €590 a month for up to €75,000 of monthly ad spend (AdAlign pricing). Try the scorer on one ad with the free audit. Keep Convert.com for the test itself. AdAlign finds the mismatch; Convert shows whether the fix wins.
Disclosure: I earn a commission if you buy AdAlign through a link on this page, and this page recommends it. Every claim about AdAlign links to AdAlign's own pages.
Rule of thumb, before you add either tool:
- Count your slots. For example, 5 active experiences running 4 weeks each gives 5 x 13 = 65 tests a year in one project, using the Growth limit on Convert's plan table. Sixty-five is plenty if they are the right 65. It is very few if half of them test pages whose ads already promise something else.
- Check the tags on your ads. Convert's audience conditions read UTM and query parameters from the visitor's URL. A gclid on its own only identifies someone who clicked a Google Ads campaign, never which one (Convert help). If your ads rely on auto-tagging alone, add manual UTM tags before you plan a test for one ad's traffic.
- Take two readings per page. Before the test, the ad's AdAlign score and its weakest dimension. After it, Convert's verdict with the sample ratio check switched on, which the Growth plan includes (Convert pricing).
What each one is for
Convert Experiences is a testing suite. A/B and split URL tests, deploys, behavioural targeting and heatmaps sit on Growth, with multivariate, multi-page and sequential testing on Pro (Convert pricing). It answers whether version B beats version A for the visitors you target.
AdAlign answers an earlier question: does the page continue the ad that sent the click. It reads ads, creatives, destination URLs and spend through a read-only connection. It scores each pair out of 10 on visual match, message match, above-the-fold continuity and tone, and names the weakest (how it works). Its own category guide draws the line the same way: testing tools work on the page, alignment tools on the step between the ad and the page (AdAlign guide).
Two positions on one team, then. One tells you what to test. The other tells you whether it worked. Neither plays the other's position.
| Documented attribute | AdAlign | Convert Experiences |
|---|---|---|
| Input | Every live Meta and Google ad and its destination page (how it works) | Visitors bucketed into experiences on your site (Convert pricing) |
| Output | A score per ad, spend at risk per landing page, specific fixes (how it works) | A verdict per experience, with an SRM check (Convert pricing) |
| What limits you | Your monitored ad spend band (pricing) | 100,000 tested users a month; 5 experiences per project on Growth (Convert pricing) |
| Free way in | Single-ad audit, no account; free account with 5 audits a month (audit) | 15-day trial, no card (Convert homepage) |
| Changing the page | Variants, beta, text only, through the AdAlign tag (how it works) | Variations, split URL redirects and deploys; no development support on any plan (Convert pricing) |
| Agent access | REST API from Scale, 1,500 evaluations a month (developers) | MCP server on all plans (Convert MCP) |
How the two share one backlog
A backlog built from opinion fills slots with whatever someone noticed last. That is not carelessness. Opinion is all a backlog has when nothing ranks the pages. A backlog built from AdAlign starts with pages ranked by spend at risk, each with the dimension that pulled its score down. That dimension is a hypothesis. A message-match failure becomes a headline test. An above-the-fold failure becomes a test that moves the offer into the first screen. The five slots go to the five pages where the mismatch costs most, and the rest wait their turn.
Then aim the test. Tag the flagged ad with its own utm_content value and set a Convert audience condition on it, since its UTM and query parameter conditions read the visitor's URL (Convert help). Only that ad's visitors enter the experiment. Everyone else sees the page as it is.
While the test runs, AdAlign keeps re-checking the page daily, re-scores it when it changes and marks it Stable, Pending or Drifted (how it works). AdAlign lists an A/B test that changes the page without telling the media team among the drift it watches for (agencies). That covers your own Convert experiments too.
A year of each, side by side
Prices checked on 27 October 2026 on the AdAlign pricing page and the Convert pricing page. Both exclude tax.
| AdAlign (EUR) | Convert Experiences (USD) | |
|---|---|---|
| Entry | Growth, from €590 a month, annual contract billed monthly | Growth, $299 a month billed annually ($3,588 a year) or $399 month to month |
| Next | Scale, from €1,290 a month | Pro, $420 a month billed annually ($5,040 a year) or $599 month to month |
| Above | Portfolio from €2,490; Enterprise custom | Enterprise, on request, annual only |
| Before or beyond the plan | €1,500 paid pilot, credited to the first invoices | Overuse at $399 per extra 100,000 tested users on Growth, which can be turned off |
AdAlign's month-to-month option costs 20% more than the annual contract (pricing). The pilot is paid up front and credited against the first invoices if you stay. So its design leans toward continuing: the €1,500 comes back only if it finds fewer than 3 issues your team agrees are real. Judge it on one thing: whether its top-ranked pages are the ones Convert's tests later confirm.
One step an agent can take
Both vendors document an interface an agent can call, and nothing joins them for you. On Scale, an agent pulls the fixes for a flagged page from AdAlign's /api/fixes endpoint (developers). Through Convert's MCP server, on the local all profile or the hosted connector signed in to the right project, it drafts the experience from that fix. Convert requires explicit confirmation before an experience is activated or paused (Convert MCP). That confirmation is the human check. A person compares the variant with the ad before any visitor sees it.
Choose AdAlign if
- Your job is deciding which pages deserve your limited test slots, ranked by the ad spend their mismatches put at risk.
- You need to know when a page drifts away from a live ad, including when one of your own experiments moved it.
- The people asking are media buyers, not CRO specialists, and they want a list rather than a statistics report.
Choose Convert if
- Your job is proving that a change wins, with A/B, split URL or multivariate tests and an SRM check.
- You want a published price, a 15-day trial without a card and tested-user billing.
- The fix needs layout or code changes, which AdAlign's text-only Variants do not make.
Most teams with paid traffic and a testing habit will run both. AdAlign feeds the queue. Convert settles it.
Free first, then paid
A free AdAlign account scores 5 ads a month with the full breakdown (audit). That is the same number as Growth's active experiences in a Convert project. Score the five ads with the most spend behind your test pages, and you have a ranked queue before paying anyone. If several score below 5, AdAlign, which pays me a commission, is the next step. Book a demo to see one account scored on the call, then the pilot, then a band on the pricing page. The AdAlign glossary entry covers the product in full.
FAQ
Does Convert check whether my ad matches the page?
Not among the features its pricing page lists. Convert tests pages and targets visitors, and its audience conditions can read the UTM tags an ad passes (Convert help). It does not compare an ad's creative with the page.
Will AdAlign notice when a Convert test changes the page?
Yes, if the page is monitored. The daily check re-scores it, and a score drop triggers an email or Slack alert (how it works).
Which should a small team buy first?
Neither, at first. The free audit costs nothing and needs no account, so start there. If the top ads score above 7, which AdAlign calls strong alignment (how it works), the page is the open question, and Convert's trial is the better next step.
