Optibase vs VWO: Tests in the Webflow Designer or a Platform

The short answer: consider Optibase if your site is built in Webflow or WordPress and the marketing team, not a developer, will run the tests: its Free plan covers 10,000 tested users a month with one test at a time, and Basic is $79 a month for 20,000 (Optibase pricing, checked on 26 October 2026). Consider VWO, sold as Wingify since its merger with AB Tasty, if testing is a programme with its own owner that needs guardrail metrics, traffic-split checks and personalization, bought through a proposal (Wingify pricing). No search data puts these two side by side; VWO is the nearest documented alternative to Optibase, so read this as a question of fit rather than a contest.

Size it before you choose:
- Count tested users per month. For example, a landing page with 18,000 new visitors a month outgrows Free's 10,000 and fits Basic's 20,000, at $79 a month or $790 a year; at 45,000 it needs Business, $159 a month or $1,590 a year (Optibase pricing). Beyond Professional's 120,000 a month, Optibase also moves to a quote, the kind of conversation Wingify starts with.
- Start from the page you already have. Optibase's Webflow app creates tests, connects conversions and assigns variants inside the Designer, without editing HTML (Webflow app docs). Wingify works in its own visual and code editors (Wingify pricing). If your designers live in Webflow, the first keeps them there.
- Agree the stop rule first. Optibase's P2BB article, on its Bayesian estimate of which variant leads, recommends waiting for 95%, while its FAQ accepts above 90% with at least 300 users per variant (P2BB article, stop FAQ). Wingify computes nothing before 500 visitors and one baseline conversion, and typically declares at 95% (statistics guide). Settle on 95% before launch and add the minimum from whichever tool you pick.
Who should consider which
Optibase is a no-code testing tool for website builders. Its pricing FAQ describes installing from the Webflow or WordPress marketplace, or pasting one script on any other builder, for A/B, split URL and multivariate tests (Optibase pricing). Search crawlers are never entered into a test and always see the Main variant (SEO FAQ). It suits a marketing team, or the agency that built the site, shipping landing page tests without an engineering ticket.
Wingify is the platform VWO is now sold as: vwo.com opens wingify.com, and the merger announcement keeps existing VWO contracts and support unchanged (merger announcement). Its testing plans run from Growth to Enterprise beside suites for personalization, analytics and feature management, with data centres in the US, the EU and India (Wingify pricing). It suits a team with an experimentation owner, several sites or apps, and a budget negotiated once a year.
Side by side
| Question | Optibase | VWO, sold as Wingify |
|---|---|---|
| Where a test is built | In the Webflow Designer, the WordPress plugin or via one script (Webflow app docs) | In Wingify's visual and code editors (pricing) |
| Free route | Free plan, 10,000 tested users, one active test (pricing) | 30-day trial, no card (pricing) |
| Multivariate tests | On every plan, Free included (pricing) | Pro (pricing) |
| Heatmaps and recordings | Professional only (pricing) | The Analytics suite, a separate offering (homepage) |
| Ending a test | Auto stop from Business (pricing) | A winner banner at the threshold, typically 95% (statistics guide) |
| Traffic-split and guardrail checks | Not among the features on the pricing page | SRM detection and guardrail metrics on Pro (pricing) |
| AI assistant access | MCP server, read-only, every plan (MCP announcement) | MCP server with read and write tools (MCP guide) |
Where the difference lies
Who builds the test
Optibase lives where the page is made. A designer selects elements visually, assigns them to variants and publishes from Webflow, so the test ships with the site's own components (Webflow app docs). Wingify sits on top of any site and gives a central team its own editors, targeting and reports across every property. The first saves a handover; the second saves a tool per site.
What protects the result
Wingify's Pro tier adds sample ratio mismatch detection and guardrail metrics, the checks that catch a broken split or a winning headline that hurts revenue (Wingify pricing). Optibase's protection is its stop guidance and Auto stop, which arrives with Business at $159 a month (Optibase pricing). On Free and Basic, a finished test runs until someone ends it. For two or three landing page tests a quarter, that is a calendar reminder; for a programme with a dozen live tests, it is the reason to pay for the platform.
Prices on 26 October 2026
| Tested users a month | Optibase | VWO, sold as Wingify |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 10,000 | Free, one active test | Quoted on monthly active users |
| Up to 20,000 | Basic: $79 a month, or $790 a year | Quoted |
| Up to 50,000 | Business: $159 a month, or $1,590 a year | Quoted |
| Up to 120,000 | Professional: $319 a month, or $3,190 a year | Quoted |
| More | Enterprise, quoted | Quoted |
Optibase prices are in US dollars, checked on 26 October 2026; yearly billing gives two months free, and the Free plan needs no card (Optibase pricing). Wingify printed no figure on 26 October 2026: its page builds a custom proposal on traffic, products and scope (Wingify pricing).
The agent step: a read-only assistant drafts the next challenger
Optibase's MCP server answers questions on every plan, Free included, and cannot create, edit or delete tests (MCP announcement). Among its documented prompts is "Suggest copy improvements for the losing variant in my homepage headline test", for which the assistant fetches the live variant pages and reads them (MCP docs). Use it once a test has ended on your stop rule, to draft three candidate headlines for the next round.
The human check: the person who owns the offer strikes any claim the site cannot back up, a designer builds the chosen headline as a variant in Webflow, and the test is published from the Designer by a person. On Wingify the same conversation can end with the agent creating the test itself, because its MCP lists write tools for creating campaigns and changing their status (MCP guide); choose the permission level with that in mind.
Optibase's own comparison page against VWO opens with Basic at $69 a month and $690 a year, where its pricing page shows $79 a month or $790 a year, and it puts VWO at about $199 a month, a figure Wingify does not publish (Optibase vs VWO). A page written by one side to win this search is a sales page, so take each price from the vendor that charges it.
Choose Optibase if
- Your job is shipping landing page tests from the Webflow Designer or WordPress without a developer.
- Your tested users stay under 120,000 a month and you want to start on a free plan (Optibase pricing).
- You want an assistant that reads results and drafts copy but cannot touch a live test.
Choose VWO if
- Your job is an experimentation programme with guardrail metrics and traffic-split checks across several properties.
- You want heatmaps, recordings and personalization from the same vendor, under one proposal (Wingify homepage).
- You need test data stored in the EU, one of the three data centre regions Wingify lists (Wingify pricing).
FAQ
Does the Optibase Free plan allow multivariate tests?
Yes. The plan table ticks multivariate tests on Free, though Free runs one active test at a time (Optibase pricing).
Does VWO publish a price?
No. Wingify quotes on monthly active users, products and scope (Wingify pricing); the figure of about $199 a month on Optibase's comparison page is Optibase's, not Wingify's (Optibase vs VWO).
Which Optibase plan stops a test by itself?
Business and Professional include Auto stop; on Free and Basic a person ends the test (Optibase pricing).
