Freshworks vs HubSpot: Two Products or One Shared Record

The short answer: if you suspect that two products from one vendor cost less than one platform, the arithmetic agrees: seven sellers on Freshsales Pro and three agents on Freshdesk Pro cost $438 a month billed annually, against $900 for the same people on HubSpot's Sales Hub and Service Hub Professional, plus two one-time $1,500 onboarding fees, from the Freshsales, Freshdesk, HubSpot Sales Hub and Service Hub pricing pages. Choose HubSpot when marketing, sales and service must act on one customer record rather than two linked ones.

Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.

Freshworks is a company that sells Freshsales for selling and Freshdesk for support, each with its own plans. HubSpot sells hubs that share one database. The price gap is real; so is the gap in how the data lives.

Before you sign either:

  1. Add up the whole first year. For example, Freshworks: 12 x (7 x $39 + 3 x $55) = 12 x $438 = $5,256. HubSpot: 12 x (7 x $90 + 3 x $90) = $10,800, plus $1,500 onboarding on each of the two hubs, so $13,800, from the Freshsales, Freshdesk, Sales Hub and Service Hub pricing pages.
  2. Start from the product you already run. A team on Freshdesk can add Freshsales and link the two with the Freshsales app, which the integration guide lists on all plans. A team already on HubSpot's free CRM adds hubs to the account it has.
  3. Define the handover you will measure. Pick one moment, such as a support ticket from an account with an open deal, and record how long sales takes to hear about it today.

From the Freshsales and Freshdesk pricing pages, the integration guide, and HubSpot's Sales Hub and Service Hub pricing, read on 26 October 2026. HubSpot's Starter price is a new-customer offer beside a list price of $20.

One vendor, two databases

Freshworks links its products rather than merging them. With the Freshsales app installed in Freshdesk, an agent sees a customer's five most recent deals beside the ticket and can create a lead or link a deal if the admin allows it, and Freshsales users see linked tickets on contacts, accounts and deals, per the integration guide. The same guide says only contacts with an email address or a unique external ID sync. For most B2B teams that is enough; for a business where customers write in from personal addresses, check how many of yours would fall through.

One platform, one record

HubSpot's case is that nothing needs linking. Its homepage describes marketing, sales and service working around the same customer data, so a ticket, a deal and a marketing email are three activities on one contact. That matters most when marketing is in the picture too, because Freshworks would need a third product for it. The price of the single record is the Professional tier on each hub you use, and an onboarding fee on each.

In USD, from the Freshsales, Freshdesk, Sales Hub and Service Hub pricing pages, checked on 26 October 2026. Freshworks add-ons include Freddy AI Agent sessions at $49 per 100 and Freshdesk MCP actions at $15 per 1,000.

Letting Freddy rank the contacts

Freshsales documents an AI step a marketing lead can own. Freddy scores each contact from 0 to 99 and gives a customer fit rating in stars, learning from patterns in contact properties, engagement and web and in-app activity, per the contact scoring guide. An admin customises the signals, and an automation can tag high scorers as product-qualified or likely to buy.

The human check: before a rep calls a newly tagged contact, they hover over the score to read the factors behind it, which the guide shows on the contact list. Two contacts with the same score can have very different reasons, and a pricing-page visit is not the same signal as a reply to the founder. Agree on what a sales-ready contact is before switching scoring on, so the stars have something to be checked against.

Free first

HubSpot's free tools have no end date; Freshsales gives 21 days and Freshdesk 14 days on its Enterprise plan. Run the handover from the list above on real tickets in whichever tool you test, before anyone negotiates a contract.

Freshworks' Freshsales page opens on a banner: new pricing plans, starting at $9. A starting-at price quotes the plan without the feature you came for, since contact scoring and sequences start on Pro. Price the plan that does the job, on both sides.

Choose Freshworks if

  • Your job is running a sales team and a support desk on a budget, with each team in a tool built for it.
  • Freshdesk is already in place and sales needs to see the same customers.
  • Marketing runs elsewhere, so a single record across three teams is not worth the platform price.

Choose HubSpot if

  • Your job is coordinating marketing, sales and service around the same contact, with no links to maintain.
  • You expect to add marketing automation on the same database.
  • The Professional fees fit a budget that is buying fewer tools to manage.

The entries cover each in more depth: Freshworks and HubSpot.

When the question is the stack, not the tool

This comparison often turns out to be a different decision: whether sales and support should share one system at all, and who owns the data between them. That is an organisation question before it is a software one, and a one-week stack review like the Startup Fixer is built for it.

FAQ

Is Freshworks the same as Freshsales?

No. Freshworks is the company, and its Freshsales pricing page sits beside separate pages for Freshdesk and its other products.

Does Freshdesk include an AI agent?

Yes. Every Freshdesk plan includes the first 500 Freddy AI Agent sessions, and more cost $49 per 100 sessions, per the Freshdesk pricing page.

Can HubSpot's support agent hand a conversation to a person?

Yes. HubSpot's customer agent guide has you set handoff rules, for example when a customer mentions a refund or cannot log in, and test that they route to the right inbox before going live.
