Typeform vs Jotform: How the Form Reads or What It Triggers

The short answer: if one marketer runs the forms and they bring in around 800 submissions a month, Jotform's Bronze plan carries that for $39 a month billed monthly, or $34 a month billed yearly, where Typeform needs Plus at $79, or $56 yearly, for the same 1,000 a month; the gap closes when three people need their own login, because Plus includes 3 users and every Jotform plan below Enterprise is a one-user plan (checked on 26 October 2026 on the Typeform and Jotform pricing pages). Pick Typeform when the form faces customers and the way it reads is the point: research, feedback, a homepage lead form. Pick Jotform when a submission starts paperwork: a payment, a signature, an approval, a form that needs HIPAA features.

Work these out before either sign-up:
- Price the people as well as the plan. For example, at 1,000 a month billed yearly, Typeform Plus costs 12 x $56 = $672 for three users, or $224 each, while Jotform Bronze costs 12 x $34 = $408 for a single login, using the Typeform and Jotform pricing pages. With one editor, Jotform is $672 - $408 = $264 a year cheaper. With three, Typeform is the only self-serve option of the two.
- List where submissions go today. Jotform's Typeform comparison page says every Jotform integration is available on every plan, free included. Typeform's free plan article names HubSpot among the free integrations and again among the paid-only ones, and puts Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Meta Pixel and Salesforce on the paid side, so open the Connect panel in your own account before you plan on a free CRM link.
- Write down the completion rate to beat. Last month's submissions divided by form views is the number either design must improve. Jotform meters views too, 10,000 a month on Starter and 100,000 on Bronze per its pricing page, so a busy landing page can reach the view cap before the submission cap.
Typeform's effort goes into the screen a respondent sees; Jotform's into the approval and the signed PDF that follow.

Where the choice gets made
Who needs to log in
Typeform puts seats inside the plan: one on Basic, three on Plus, five on Business. Jotform lists each self-serve tier as a "1 User Individual Plan" and keeps user management and single sign-on for Enterprise, priced by quote. If three people edit forms, that settles it before any feature does.
Which limit runs out first
Typeform has one pool: every form draws on the same monthly responses, and at 100% the forms go Private until the month turns or you upgrade, per its response limits article. Jotform has six counters, and which one bites depends on the form: views on a busy page, payments on an event, storage on a form that runs all year. Jotform's rule for full storage is set out in the Jotform entry.
Where the form stops
A typeform ends on an ending screen unless Growth Flow, at $379 a month billed monthly, adds enrichment, contacts and email and text follow-ups, per the pricing page. A Jotform submission can keep going: Workflows assign tasks, wait for an approval and request a payment at any stage, with no transaction fee added by Jotform. Signing as the last step is covered in Jotform vs Docusign.
Price at four volumes

| Up to 100 | Basic: $39 monthly, $28 a month yearly | Starter: free | 1 and 1 |
| Up to 1,000 | Plus: $79 monthly, $56 a month yearly | Bronze: $39 monthly, $34 a month yearly | 3 and 1 |
| Up to 2,500 | Business: $129 monthly, $91 a month yearly | Silver: $49 monthly, $39 a month yearly | 5 and 1 |
| Up to 10,000 | Business: $129 monthly, $91 a month yearly | Gold: $129 monthly, $99 a month yearly | 5 and 1 |

An AI follow-up, read by a person first
Typeform's Clarify with AI question reads a respondent's open answer and asks up to two follow-ups written on the spot. You cannot steer how the AI behaves, so the human check comes before publishing. Put a rating question first, then a Clarify question such as "Describe what made you give that score." In preview, a person types five test answers: a vague one, a long complaint, a one-word reply, a compliment and one in Dutch. If any follow-up asks something you would never ask a customer, rewrite the base question and run the five again. Typeform's privacy note for the feature says answers go to a third-party AI provider and suggests a consent question with branching, so people who decline get a plain text field.
Choose Typeform if the job is
- Customer research or feedback where open answers matter and a follow-up earns more detail.
- A small team of editors sharing one account without an Enterprise contract.
- A form whose look and pacing are part of how the brand comes across.
Choose Jotform if the job is
- Taking payments, signatures or approvals as part of the same submission.
- One person running many forms: 25 on Bronze and 50 on Silver, per the pricing page.
- Health-related forms that need HIPAA features, which start on Gold.
Free tiers first, then the billing toggle
Jotform's Starter plan is enough for the test that matters: build your real form as a Card form, send it to the next campaign, and compare submissions per view with the rate you wrote down. Typeform's free plan allows 10 responses a month across all forms, per its free plan article, enough to see how the form reads on a phone and too few to measure anything. If the Card form converts as well as your current one, Typeform's premium buys feel rather than results.
Then check which price you were shown. Both pricing pages load with the yearly toggle already selected, so the first figures, $28 for Typeform Basic and $34 for Jotform Bronze, are monthly shares of a year paid in advance; that default books twelve months of revenue for the vendor before your first form has collected a response. Typeform's FAQ says a cancellation takes effect at the end of the prepaid period, and Jotform's says yearly plans renew unless cancelled, on the Typeform and Jotform pricing pages. Pay monthly until one form has run a full campaign.
FAQ
Can Jotform show one question at a time?
Yes. Jotform Cards put one question on each page, and Jotform's Typeform comparison page says Cards come with every plan. Typeform works the other way round: one question per page by default, with an option to group several, per its form page guide.
Which costs less for a team of three editors?
Typeform, on the self-serve plans: Plus includes 3 users at $79 a month billed monthly, while Jotform's only multiuser plan is Enterprise, priced on request, per the Typeform and Jotform pricing pages.
Which one handles HIPAA forms?
Jotform, from Gold at $129 a month billed monthly or $99 billed yearly, where its pricing page lists HIPAA-enabled features. Typeform lists HIPAA compliance as Enterprise only on its pricing page.
