Tapfiliate vs Rewardful: Priced by Clicks or by Revenue

The short answer: if you sell a subscription on Stripe or Paddle and affiliates bring in under $7,500 a month, Rewardful's Starter at $49 costs less than Tapfiliate's Launch at $89 and never counts a click (Rewardful pricing, Tapfiliate pricing, both checked on 26 October 2026). If you sell through Shopify, WooCommerce or BigCommerce, or want a different rate per product category, Tapfiliate is the one built for it: Launch includes 5,000 clicks and 500 conversions a month and 30+ integrations. The meters point opposite ways. Rewardful charges for revenue; Tapfiliate charges for traffic.

Pull these from last month:
- Clicks, conversions and revenue from affiliates, priced on both meters. For example, a SaaS with 2,000 affiliate clicks, 40 sales and $9,000 of affiliate revenue fits Tapfiliate Launch at $89 but has passed Rewardful Starter, so Rewardful bills Growth at $99. A programme with 20,000 clicks and $5,000 of revenue reverses it: Rewardful stays at $49, while Launch adds 15 x $1.5 = $22.50 for the extra clicks, $111.50 before conversions (Tapfiliate pricing, Rewardful pricing).
- The platform that takes the money today. Tapfiliate connects Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento and Stripe, among 30+ integrations, plus a pixel, postbacks and an API. Rewardful's features page sets programmes up on Stripe and Paddle.
- How many affiliates you already have. Launch stops at 50 affiliates and one team member, so a programme with 60 partners is on Scale at $179 before traffic is counted (pricing).
- Affiliates with clicks and no sales. Count them each month. A rising count means traffic you pay to meter, on Tapfiliate, without revenue behind it.

The three things that separate them
What each meter rewards
Tapfiliate's meter favours few clicks and large orders: a high-ticket B2B product can run a lot of revenue through Launch's 500 conversions. Rewardful's favours many clicks and modest revenue: unlimited visitors and affiliates on every plan, with the price following the money referred customers pay. Know which describes your programme before reading any feature list.
Where the sale is recorded
Rewardful reads payments from Stripe or Paddle and adjusts commissions when a referred customer upgrades, downgrades or cancels (pricing). Tapfiliate starts from the shop or checkout: recurring commissions and coupon tracking are on Launch, and its 30+ pre-built integrations cover the main ecommerce platforms as well as Stripe (homepage).
Control over margin
Tapfiliate's Scale plan adds commissions by item or category, group commissions, a bonus system and multi-level commissions, so a shop can pay more on high-margin lines (pricing). Rewardful sets rates by campaign, as a percentage or fixed amount, recurring or capped by months or payments; one campaign on Starter, unlimited from Growth.
The meter that keeps counting
Rewardful's plan limit keeps counting a referred customer after their commission ends. Its help centre says every sale tied to a referral counts toward the monthly revenue limit, renewals included, even where the programme pays no commission on them, for example when only the first purchase is rewarded (revenue limit article). A programme that pays affiliates once therefore climbs Rewardful's tiers with every renewal those customers make: the tool's fee follows your retention, not your affiliate payouts. Read the monthly summary under the Campaign tab, which the same article names, before assuming you will stay on Starter.
One agent step: who sends traffic and no sales
Tapfiliate runs an MCP server, a read-only beta, that connects Claude, Cursor or Google Antigravity to the account through https://mcp.tapfiliate.com/mcp and an OAuth sign-in; it needs an Admin login with API or Zapier access enabled (MCP article). Ask it who is sending traffic but not sales: by default it looks at the last 30 days and flags affiliates with 100+ clicks and no conversions. It cannot change data or create payments, so the human check is the decision itself. A person opens each flagged affiliate's landing page and offer, then fixes a broken page, adjusts the brief, or pauses the partner. Reports by landing page or referrer need Enterprise or separate access. Rewardful documents no MCP server; its developer docs offer a REST API and webhooks.

The free test
Last month's clicks, conversions and affiliate revenue, entered into the table above, cost nothing and settle most of this. If you then trial Tapfiliate, note the date: its FAQ says the subscription starts automatically when the trial ends, and you can switch plans during the trial without being billed (pricing). Rewardful gives 14 days on every plan.
FAQ
Does Tapfiliate handle Stripe subscriptions?
Yes. Stripe is among its pre-built integrations, and recurring commissions are included from Launch (pricing).
What happens when Tapfiliate's limits are passed?
Overage is charged per 1,000 clicks or conversions: $1.5 and $15 on Launch, $1 and $10 on Scale (pricing). Rewardful has no overage line; it moves the account to the next tier in the following billing cycle (pricing schedule).
Can Tapfiliate's MCP server approve commissions?
No. In this beta it answers questions and spots trends; its help article says actions such as creating payments or editing affiliate details are not part of it yet (MCP article).
