The short answer: consider Post Affiliate Pro if you run a publisher or banner program with many small affiliates, pay partners for recruiting partners, or run a network for several merchants: no plan caps the number of affiliates, multi-tier commissions run on every plan, and Starter costs $89 a month for 10,000 tracking requests, Pro $139 for 1,000,000 (Post Affiliate Pro pricing). Consider Tapfiliate if you run an online shop or a subscription product with a few dozen partners: Launch costs the same $89 a month for 5,000 clicks and 500 conversions, includes recurring commissions and coupon tracking, and stops at 50 affiliates and one team member (Tapfiliate pricing). Both monthly billing, checked on 26 October 2026. The entry price is identical. What each one counts is not.

Sort yourself first:
- Whether commissions recur. Post Affiliate Pro includes recurring commissions from Ultimate, at $269 a month; Tapfiliate includes them on Launch at $89 (Post Affiliate Pro, Tapfiliate). For a program that pays on every renewal, that is $269 - $89 = $180 a month, $2,160 a year, before any other feature is compared.
- What your traffic looks like. For example, 60 publishers producing 70,000 tracked requests a month, impressions, clicks and sales together, cost $89 + 6 x $5 = $119 on Post Affiliate Pro Starter, which charges $5 per extra 10,000. On Tapfiliate, the 60 publishers alone pass Launch's 50-affiliate cap, so the plan is Scale at $179 (Post Affiliate Pro, Tapfiliate).
- The cart you already run. Post Affiliate Pro lists 125+ plugins on Starter and 220+ integrations from Pro; Tapfiliate lists 30+ pre-built integrations, Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento and Stripe among them (Post Affiliate Pro, Tapfiliate). Check yours by name on both pages before anything else.
- Affiliates who sold anything. Count the partners with at least one sale last month, against the number you are about to pay to track. That ratio decides whether a cap on headcount or a meter on traffic hurts you more.

What separates them
Which meter your traffic trips first
Post Affiliate Pro counts everything it tracks, so a banner shown 10,000 times uses Starter's whole month before anyone clicks (pricing). Tapfiliate ignores impressions and counts clicks and conversions, but caps Launch at 50 affiliates (pricing). Banner programs with many quiet publishers fit the first. Shops with a few busy creators fit the second.
Subscriptions, or orders
Post Affiliate Pro's lifetime commissions, on every plan, reward each later purchase a referred customer makes, while recurring commissions for subscriptions and memberships wait for Ultimate (plan comparison). Tapfiliate puts recurring commissions on Launch and adds commissions by item or category, group commissions and a bonus system on Scale (pricing). A SaaS reads the first line; a shop with uneven margins reads the second.
Set up for you, or by you
Every Post Affiliate Pro plan includes a setup and integration service, capped at two hours on Starter, and lifetime support around the clock (pricing). Tapfiliate offers a demo recording, a personal walkthrough on request, and phone support only on Scale and Enterprise (trial billing).
Prices, checked on 26 October 2026
Post Affiliate Pro, per month: Starter $89 billed monthly or $79 billed annually, Pro $139 or $129, Ultimate $269 or $249, Network $649 or $599; commission groups and multiple currencies cost $19 a month each on Starter (Post Affiliate Pro pricing). Tapfiliate, per month: Launch $89 monthly or $74 on annual billing ($890 a year), Scale $179 or $149 ($1,790 a year), Enterprise custom (Tapfiliate pricing).
One agent step: the quiet-affiliate review
Tapfiliate's MCP server connects Claude, Cursor or Google Antigravity to the account through an Admin login with API or Zapier access enabled, and one of its documented requests is "Find inactive affiliates for program X and give me recommendations about the program's optimisation" (MCP article). Run it on the first Monday of the month. The server only reads, so the human check is the decision: the program manager goes through the list and chooses, partner by partner, a nudge, fresh creative or removal, then makes each change in the dashboard. On Post Affiliate Pro, the same review runs through its MCP server, which works with affiliates, campaigns and top-affiliate reports; choose read-only access when you connect it, since read-and-write is offered too (AI assistant page).
Tapfiliate's own trial article says most users have active programs before the end of the 14-day trial period, yet Launch's trial is 7 days, billing details are taken at registration, and the subscription starts by itself when the trial ends (trial billing, pricing FAQ). The cheapest plan gets the shortest look before it bills. Start on Scale's 14 days instead; the pricing FAQ lets you switch plans during a trial without being billed.
The free comparison
Before any trial, put last month's numbers into the table above: impressions if you serve banners, clicks, conversions, active affiliates and whether commissions should recur. It costs nothing and decides most cases. If it points to Post Affiliate Pro, its 30-day trial needs no card. If it points to Tapfiliate, note the trial's end date the day you register.

FAQ
Which one suits a SaaS subscription?
On the entry plan, Tapfiliate: recurring commissions and Stripe are included on Launch (pricing). Post Affiliate Pro reaches recurring commissions on Ultimate at $269 a month, though its lifetime commissions on every plan already pay on later purchases (pricing).
Can the AI tools change my data?
Tapfiliate's MCP server cannot: it reads and reports, and payments or edits stay in the dashboard (MCP article). Post Affiliate Pro's built-in assistant cannot either, while an external tool connected through its MCP server can if you grant read-and-write access (AI assistant page).
How many people can manage the program?
On Tapfiliate, one team member on Launch, five on Scale and unlimited on Enterprise (pricing). Post Affiliate Pro lists multiple administrators among the features of Ultimate, its $269 plan (pricing), so a program run by more than one person should price that plan in.
