The short answer: choose Woodpecker if you want unlimited contact storage at every tier, LinkedIn steps in the same campaign and conditions that branch on prospect behaviour, at moderate volume. Choose Instantly if you send at high volume across many mailboxes, want done-for-you accounts and AI agents, and are happy to buy lead data as a separate subscription.
Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.
Both let you connect as many sending mailboxes as you like. What separates them is what each tier caps, and where the extras sit. Woodpecker caps sends and leaves storage open. Instantly caps sends and uploaded contacts together, then sells its lead database and AI agents on a second subscription.
The comparison at a glance
| Attribute | Woodpecker | Instantly | Source |

One discrepancy to know about: Instantly's plan card and pricing file give Hypergrowth 125,000 emails a month, while the feature table lower on the same pricing page says 100,000. Confirm with Instantly before you plan around the higher figure.
Where they differ
Storage against throughput
If you keep a large prospect base and work through it slowly, Woodpecker's model costs less: it never charges for stored contacts, per its pricing page. Instantly's Growth plan holds 1,000 uploaded contacts, so a list of 5,000 people pushes you to Hypergrowth before you send more mail. Turn the case around and Instantly wins on raw volume: Light Speed sends 500,000 emails for $358 a month on its pricing page, against $499 for Woodpecker's 500,000 tier, both checked on 23 October 2026.
What a campaign can do
Woodpecker builds a branching path: conditions on opens, clicks, tasks, snippet values or LinkedIn connection requests, with automated LinkedIn invitations, visits and messages as steps (campaign editor article). Instantly's campaign is an email sequence with variants, subsequences and optional AI agents for replies and prospecting, per its setup guide. Its help centre recommends keeping most cold campaigns to three or four steps.
How much sending each mailbox should carry
Their own guidance is close. Woodpecker recommends 25 to 35 emails per mailbox per day and no more than 50 (daily limit article). Instantly recommends 30 campaign emails per account per day and a campaign limit of accounts x 30 (limits article). Neither tool expects one mailbox to do the work of ten, so plan the mailbox count first and the plan second.
Price at three volumes
Monthly billing, USD, checked on 23 October 2026 on the Woodpecker and Instantly pricing pages. Woodpecker shows the same figures in EUR.
| Monthly emails | Woodpecker | Instantly Outreach |
|---|---|---|
| 5,000 | $39, unlimited contacts | Growth, $47, 1,000 contacts |
| 100,000 to 125,000 | $119 for 100,000 | Hypergrowth, $97 for 125,000, 25,000 contacts |
| 500,000 | $499 | Light Speed, $358, 100,000 contacts |
On Instantly, lead data is extra unless you buy a bundle; the Starter bundle pairs Growth with 1,500 credits for $94 a month, per its pricing page. On Woodpecker, LinkedIn and integrations are the usual extras, at $29 per LinkedIn account and $20 a month respectively.
What the law asks of every sender
Both products track opens and clicks and add unsubscribe links; neither decides whether a recipient may be contacted. If you email people in the United States, the FTC's CAN-SPAM compliance guide applies to business-to-business email too: accurate headers and subject lines that do not mislead, a valid physical postal address, a working opt-out honoured within 10 business days, and no way to contract that responsibility away to a vendor. EU and UK rules start from consent for individuals rather than an opt-out, and they vary by country, so check each market.
Choose Woodpecker if
- Your list is big and your monthly sending is moderate.
- You want LinkedIn actions and behaviour-based branches in one campaign.
- You want unlimited seats and verification without a second subscription.
Choose Instantly if
- You send hundreds of thousands of emails a month across many mailboxes.
- You want done-for-you or pre-warmed accounts bought in the same place.
- You plan to use its lead database and AI agents and accept the separate credits plan.

Woodpecker, at $39 against $47 on monthly billing, and Woodpecker includes unlimited contact storage where Instantly's Growth plan holds 1,000 uploaded contacts, per the Woodpecker and Instantly pricing pages checked on 23 October 2026.
Does Instantly charge overage when I exceed my plan?
