The short answer: with 6 to 10 brands or clients, the two cost exactly the same, $297 a month: ClickFunnels Optimize gives you 10 workspaces with 750K emails a month included, and HighLevel Unlimited gives you unlimited sub-accounts with email billed at $0.675 per 1,000 (ClickFunnels pricing, HighLevel pricing, HighLevel pricing guide, checked on 26 October 2026). Choose ClickFunnels if your job is selling your own offer through a checkout, an order bump and an upsell. Choose HighLevel if your job is running lead capture and booking for client businesses, and certainly from the eleventh client, where ClickFunnels moves to Dominate, $5,997 a year on annual billing only.

Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.

Both pricing pages use the word sub-account, and they mean different things by it. In ClickFunnels a workspace is a brand with its own site, store and funnels, and the product is arranged around the moment someone pays: the checkout in the middle, pages in front of it, further offers behind it. In HighLevel a sub-account is a client. An agency builds one lead-to-booking system and repeats it, and the pricing FAQ points to a snapshot library of pre-built accounts for real estate, dentists and gyms (HighLevel pricing). One tool is shaped by a sale. The other by a client list.

What settles it, in this order:

  1. Count the accounts, then divide. For example, six client brands need ClickFunnels Optimize, because Scale stops at 5 workspaces, so $297 / 6 = $49.50 each, the same as HighLevel Unlimited. Twelve brands need Dominate: $5,997 / 12 = $499.75 a month, against HighLevel's $297, on the ClickFunnels and HighLevel pricing pages.
  2. Price the email you already send. For example, one business with 40,000 contacts mailed five times a month sends 200,000 emails. HighLevel Starter is $97 plus 200 x $0.675 = $135 of usage, so $232; ClickFunnels Scale holds 75K contacts and 300K emails for $197, per the HighLevel pricing guide and the ClickFunnels pricing page. Unlimited contacts sound cheaper. For a heavy mailer they are not.
  3. List the tools you would switch off. The CRM, the scheduler, the SMS tool, the course host. Write the monthly cost beside each; the saving is real only for the ones you would cancel.
  4. Choose the number you will read after the trial. For your own offer, earnings per click and sales per step from the funnel analytics dashboard. For an agency, usage per client, which HighLevel's billing view breaks down by sub-account (pricing guide).

Read on 26 October 2026 from the ClickFunnels pricing page and the HighLevel pricing page. One rung down, ClickFunnels Launch costs $97 a month, or $81 billed annually, for 1 workspace, 2 team members and 10K contacts; HighLevel Starter costs $97 a month, or $970 a year, for 3 sub-accounts.

Where they part

What happens after the click

ClickFunnels is built around the purchase. Its homepage lists order form bumps, one-click upsells and one-time offers next to the checkout, and payments run through Payments AI at a standard 2.9% + $0.30 per charge, with no share of your sales kept by ClickFunnels (payments guide, pricing FAQ). HighLevel is built around the conversation after a form: missed-call text-back, Conversation AI, Voice AI, booking calendars and one inbox for texts, email and social messages, per its homepage. It takes payments too, through Stripe, PayPal and the other providers its pricing page names.

How the bill grows

ClickFunnels grows by rungs: contacts, team members and workspaces step up together at $97, $197 and $297. HighLevel's subscription stops moving at $297 and the wallet grows instead, charged by use for phone, SMS, email and premium AI, and refilled from the card on file whenever it drops below your minimum (pricing guide). One invoice is fixed until you climb a rung. The other moves with every text your clients send.

An assistant that builds the funnel, behind doors you choose

ClickFunnels documents an agent job that HighLevel's server does not cover: building funnels, products and checkouts from a conversation. HighLevel's MCP server works on contacts, conversations, calendars, opportunities and payments, authorised by a private token per sub-account, which suits follow-up rather than building. The ClickFunnels route, from its MCP server guide:

  1. In Claude, add ClickFunnels from the connector directory, or as a custom connector at https://agents.myclickfunnels.com/mcp, and sign in with your own login.
  2. The authorisation screen arrives with every workspace you administer ticked. Untick all but the brand you are building for.
  3. Full access is preselected. Switch to Choose by category, which starts with no access, and open only Funnels and Store for read and write.
  4. Ask in plain words for an opt-in page, a sales page and a checkout for the product you name, at its price.
  5. The human check: a person switches the funnel to test mode, pushes an order through with a test card, and reads every price and promise on the pages before the funnel goes live.

Its actions are logged as yours, and the connection expires roughly every 90 days: review its grants then.

Paper first, then two trials

The free test needs no account: a sheet with your brands or clients, contacts and emails a month, priced against the two pricing pages. If it leaves the question open, run both 14-day trials on one identical build: one offer, its form, its checkout or booking, and a three-email follow-up. ClickFunnels backs its plans with a 30-day money-back guarantee; HighLevel's billing starts by itself when the trial ends unless you cancel, per the disclaimer on its pricing page.

One line on that page deserves a place in the sheet. HighLevel rebills your clients' calls and emails at cost on Unlimited and allows a markup only on Agency Pro at $497, so the margin an agency plans to earn on its clients' messages starts with an extra $200 a month paid to HighLevel (pricing page). Write your expected margin next to that $200 before the higher plan looks necessary.

ClickFunnels wins when your job is

  • Selling a course, coaching programme or digital product you own, through a checkout with a bump and an upsell.
  • Mailing a large list often, where included email costs less than paying per message.
  • Running up to 10 brands from one login, each with its own funnels and store.

HighLevel wins when your job is

  • Building the same lead capture, booking and follow-up system for many client businesses.
  • Texting and calling leads from the same inbox as email.
  • Adding an eleventh client, and a twentieth, without a jump in subscription.

FAQ

Which costs less for 12 client accounts?

HighLevel, even after usage. For example, with 15,000 emails per client a month, HighLevel is $297 + 180 x $0.675 = $418.50, against $499.75 a month for ClickFunnels Dominate (ClickFunnels pricing, HighLevel pricing guide).

Does either take a share of my sales?

ClickFunnels says no in its pricing FAQ, and card processing through Payments AI costs 2.9% + $0.30 per charge. HighLevel's pricing page lists no percentage on sales; it connects payment providers such as Stripe, PayPal and Square, whose own processing fees apply.

Can an AI answer my leads in either?

In HighLevel, yes: Conversation AI runs in Suggestive mode, where it drafts each reply and a person edits and sends it, or in Autopilot, where it replies alone, per the bot guide. ClickFunnels' MCP server can find and tag contacts from a chat, but the help pages read for this comparison document no AI that answers leads by itself.
