The short answer: consider Morningscore if two to four people who are new to SEO want the tool to choose their next task: Lite covers 2 users, 3 websites and 100 keywords tracked daily for $69 a month, and Business covers 4 users and 500 keywords for $99 (Morningscore pricing). Consider Semrush if a specialist wants to dig through keyword and competitor data across markets and large sites; its SEO plan starts at $139 a month for one user, with each extra seat at $45 (Semrush pricing).

The two are built for different people, so this page starts from who each one is for, then compares what they do.
Who should look at Morningscore
A small company where marketing is one or two generalists and SEO is one job among six. Morningscore turns its findings into Missions, a prioritised to-do list that earns XP as you complete it, and puts a human chat on weekdays from 9 to 16 CET, per its homepage. The plan cards list the same core tools on every tier, with users, websites, keywords and AI credits rising by tier; the full feature table adds reports from Business and competitor-site scans from Pro, per the pricing page.
Who should look at Semrush
A team with at least one person who enjoys the data: someone who will run competitor gaps, compare markets and read a crawl report. Semrush sells depth by the plan and by the toolkit, and the people who use it are priced one seat at a time. It is a data-first suite where you choose the work, which suits someone who already knows what to look for.
What to check first:
- Price the team, not the plan. Four users on Morningscore Business cost $99 a month. Four users on the Semrush SEO plan cost $139 + 3 x $45 = $274 a month on monthly billing, using the Morningscore and Semrush pricing pages.
- Count the pages you would scan. Morningscore's Health tool scans up to 250 pages on Lite, 5,000 on Business and 25,000 on Pro, per its pricing FAQ. Semrush's SEO plan crawls 100,000 pages a month, up to 20,000 per website. A shop with 3,000 URLs is fine on Morningscore Business and stuck on Lite.
- Know where the data comes from. Morningscore reports Google and ChatGPT and fetches data on demand from 7 partners, and its own FAQ says the big suites' databases are much bigger, per the pricing page. For a generalist that is enough; for someone sizing a new market it is the first thing to test.
- Run one scan in each and compare the lists. Scan the same site with Morningscore Health and Semrush Site Audit during the trials. Issues both report are the certain work; issues only one reports are where each tool's judgment sits.
At the same price, what you get
| Monthly price point | Morningscore | Semrush |
|---|---|---|
| Around $99 to $139 | Business, $99: 4 users, 10 websites, 500 keywords, 100 tracked prompts | SEO, $139: 1 user, 5 websites, 500 keywords, no prompt quota |
| Around $159 to $199 | Pro, $159: 10 users, 30 websites, 2,000 keywords, 500 prompts | Starter, $199: 1 user, 5 websites, 500 keywords, 50 prompts |
| $299 | Premium: 20 users, 100 websites, 5,000 keywords, 2,000 prompts | Pro+: 1 user, 15 websites, 1,500 keywords, 100 prompts |
| API | Full API and a beta MCP endpoint on every plan | MCP on all plans; API from Advanced, quoted on request |
Monthly billing in USD, from the Morningscore pricing page (excluding VAT) and the Semrush pricing page, checked on 24 October 2026. What the Semrush column buys instead of seats is depth: 142 geo databases and 29 billion keywords, according to its homepage.
The differences that decide it
Guidance or a blank search box
Morningscore's Missions pick the next task for you and rank it, per the homepage. Semrush hands you the research tools and expects a plan. Neither is wrong. A team that does not know where to start loses weeks in a suite; a specialist loses patience in a checklist.
Seats
Here the gap is widest. Morningscore includes 2, 4, 10 or 20 users depending on the plan. Semrush includes one user on every plan, with extra seats at $45 on SEO and Starter and $80 on Pro+, per its plan comparison. The more people need to log in, the more Morningscore's pricing favours you.
Fixing, not just finding
Morningscore's RANK AI plugin for WordPress and Shopify fixes issues such as missing or overlong titles, meta descriptions and alt tags, per its on-page AI page, and stores each fix in your site's own database at one AI credit per fix, per the plugin guide. Semrush's SEO plans report what Site Audit finds and leave the editing to you.
One step an agent can take
The RANK AI plugin offers two modes, per the plugin guide. In Automatic mode the AI picks a fix for each issue; in Manual mode you choose a solution for every problem, and all fixes stay visible and editable in a Fixes tab. On the first run, choose Manual for the issues on your key pages: the AI offers solutions for each title or description, a person picks one, and only then is it queued for the live site, where it applies about a minute after approval. For agents outside the app, the API reference lists a beta MCP endpoint and an endpoint for retrieving AI fixes for health issues. Semrush's MCP is read-only, per its MCP article.
Try both before paying
Morningscore gives 14 days without a credit card and a one-click live demo, per its homepage. Semrush's free plan needs no card either, with one demo project and 10 reports a day. Run the scan comparison from the list above inside those two windows.
Vendor arithmetic favours the vendor, and it ages. Morningscore's Semrush comparison, dated 6 and 7 May 2026, totals Semrush at $658 a month by adding a $499 Business plan for API access, a $99 AI add-on and a $60 content add-on. The Semrush pricing page of 24 October 2026 lists no Business plan, includes AI visibility in Starter at $199 and quotes API access on Advanced. Rebuild any such total from the other vendor's current page.
Prices, checked on 24 October 2026
The monthly prices are in the table further up. Paid for a year, Morningscore's yearly option gives two months free: Lite is $690 against 12 x $69 = $828, Business $990, Pro $1,590 and Premium $2,990, per the Morningscore pricing page, excluding VAT. Semrush's annual rates come to 12 x $117.33 = $1,407.96 for SEO, 12 x $165.17 = $1,982.04 for Starter and 12 x $248.17 = $2,978.04 for Pro+, per its pricing page. Both checked on 24 October 2026, in USD.
Morningscore's yearly plans bind you for 12 months; its monthly plans can stop after the current month, per the same pricing FAQ.
