The short answer: if sales hands work to delivery, operations or finance teams that already plan in monday.com, monday CRM keeps all of it on one platform, from $17 per seat a month billed yearly on Standard, per its pricing page. Read the caps first: Standard holds 10,000 active contacts and deals and 250 custom automations a month, mass email and sequences start on Pro at $28, and plans start at 3 seats. If the pipeline is the work and the rest of the company lives elsewhere, Pipedrive is the sharper tool, with automations and sequences on Growth at $39 per seat billed annually, per its pricing page. Both checked on 26 October 2026.

monday.com changes the frame. Its CRM is one product on a work platform, built from boards, columns and automations that other teams use for projects and operations. Pipedrive is a sales CRM and nothing else, which is both its limit and its strength.

Before you switch:

  1. Run the seat sums, minimum included. For example, three people who need sequences: monday Pro is 3 x $28 x 12 = $1,008 a year, and Pipedrive Growth is 3 x $39 x 12 = $1,404. A solo founder is different: monday's plans start from 3 seats, so Standard costs 3 x $17 x 12 = $612, against 1 x $168 for Pipedrive Lite. From the monday CRM and Pipedrive pricing pages.
  2. Start from where delivery already works. If your project and operations teams run on monday.com boards, a won deal can feed their work without an integration. If they use other tools, that advantage disappears, and Pipedrive's Projects add-on or its marketplace covers the handover instead.
  3. Count the updates sent by hand. For two weeks, tally the status messages reps send by hand to delivery or finance about deals. A shared platform should push that number towards zero; if it does not move, the platform did not earn its place.

What separates them in daily use

Caps you can hit

monday's plans are written as limits: contacts and deals, automations a month, dashboards, columns per board, quotes. For example, 120 new leads a month with three automated steps each is 360 automation runs, past Standard's 250, so the team that automates its follow-up lands on Pro. Pipedrive's plans are written as features: automations, sequences and email sync appear at Growth, lead routing and scoring at Premium, with usage limits of their own such as open deals. Check the cap you will meet first, not the price.

Sales and the rest of the work

monday CRM's homepage sells marketing, sales and delivery on one platform, so the team that delivers works where the deal was won. Pipedrive stops at the signature and sells Projects as an add-on from $16, included on Premium and Ultimate. A company where sales and delivery argue over handovers gains more from monday; a sales team with its own rhythm gains more from Pipedrive's focus.

Agents in the product

monday lists agents on Standard and Pro: a lead sourcer, an outreach caller, a meeting prep agent, an AI notetaker and a build-your-own option. Pipedrive's Nova, on every plan, briefs you before each meeting, transcribes the call and prepares CRM updates for you to approve afterwards, per its pricing page. monday has the wider set of agents; Pipedrive's approval step is built into the one it has.

Prices, checked on 26 October 2026

monday CRM, per seat a month, from its pricing page: Basic $12, Standard $17 and Pro $28 billed yearly, or $18, $25 and $41 billed monthly; Ultimate, the former Enterprise tier, is priced on request. Taxes are extra and the final price depends on your billing country. Above 40 users, the FAQ says to ask for a quote.

Pipedrive, per seat a month, from its pricing page, in USD excluding VAT: Lite $14, Growth $39, Premium $59 and Ultimate $79 billed annually, or $24, $49, $79 and $99 billed monthly.

A seat minimum is how a per-seat vendor puts a floor under each account: monday's FAQ says plans start from 3 users, so a two-person team pays for three. That is a fair price for the platform if the third seat goes to someone in delivery, and a quiet surcharge if it does not.

One agent step on a scoped workspace

monday's MCP page says its MCP server is available on all plans at no extra cost, once an admin installs the app from the monday marketplace, and that access can be limited to specific workspaces. Limit it to the sales workspace, connect Claude, and paste the notes from a client call: ask it to update the deal's stage and create the delivery item on the project board. The human check comes from monday's own advice on the same page: scope the access carefully, monitor what the assistant does, and stay in the loop, so the account owner reads both changes before the delivery team acts on them.

Choose Pipedrive if

  • Your job is running a sales pipeline, and delivery and finance live in other tools.
  • You are a team of one or two, where monday's 3-seat minimum costs more than it gives.
  • You want automations and sequences without tracking monthly automation caps.

Choose monday.com if

  • Your job is selling work that other teams then deliver, and they already plan on monday.com.
  • You want sales, projects and quotes on the same boards.
  • You will use the built-in agents for lead sourcing, calls or meeting prep.

Run both 14-day trials, with no card for either, and build the same three-stage pipeline in each. If the trial turns into a debate about how sales, delivery and finance hand work to each other, the problem is the stack rather than the CRM, and a one-week Startup Fixer review is built for that question.
