The short answer: consider Wave.video if your team runs a monthly live show or webinar and wants the stream, the edit of the replay and a landing page for it on one bill: Creator is $30 a month on monthly billing, or $24 a month billed annually, and pairs a 30-minute editor with streaming to 5 channels and 20 embedded videos (Wave.video pricing, checked on 26 October 2026). Consider FlexClip if nobody goes live and the work is short promos built from templates and stock: Plus is US$19.99 a month on monthly billing, or US$143.88 for a year, with 1080p export and unlimited video length (FlexClip pricing). People rarely search these two side by side; they are neighbours in the same budget line, which is why the page starts with who belongs on which.

Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.

Who should look at which:

  1. The live team pays for the studio. For example, Wave.video Creator billed annually is 12 x $24 = $288 a year, against $143.88 for FlexClip Plus, so the live studio, recording and landing pages cost $144.12 a year more, per the Wave.video and FlexClip pricing pages. If nobody streams, that is the whole difference, spent on nothing.
  2. The team that already streams elsewhere keeps its tool. A webinar platform or multistreaming service already on the card makes Wave.video's live half a duplicate, and FlexClip's editor the cleaner addition.
  3. The site with many embeds checks the cap. Wave.video includes 5 embedded videos on Free and 20 on Streamer and Creator, then charges 20 cents a month per extra embed (hosting costs). Count the videos embedded on your site now.
  4. Everyone picks the reading first. Replays watched per live session for the first group; finished views of each promo for the second. Note last month's figure before a trial starts.

Read on 26 October 2026 from Wave.video pricing, the Wave.video homepage, FlexClip pricing and FlexClip's sharing article.

What separates them

One tool goes live

Wave.video's homepage lists a live streaming studio, a recorder, a thumbnail maker, hosting and a stock library in one platform, and Streamer adds webinars and streaming of pre-recorded video (Wave.video, pricing). FlexClip has a screen recorder and an editor, and its homepage lists no live streaming (FlexClip). If the calendar has a recurring live slot, the comparison is mostly over.

The editing ceilings sit in different places

Wave.video caps editing length by plan: up to 5 minutes on Streamer, 30 on Creator, 2 hours at 60fps on Business (pricing FAQ). Its own page disagrees about Free, with the table showing 15 minutes and the FAQ 15 seconds, so test on the plan you would buy. FlexClip caps Free at 10 minutes and lifts the limit on Plus, then counts stock instead: five stock videos per project on Plus before the watermark appears (FlexClip pricing).

Where the video lives afterwards

Every Wave.video video gets a landing page with a headline, a call-to-action button and UTM fields on the button link (landing page guide), which suits a replay you want to send traffic to. FlexClip makes a share link after export, private or public, with downloads on or off (sharing article), which suits a promo headed for social channels.

Plans and prices, side by side

Wave.video, per month on monthly billing then on annual billing: Streamer $20 or $16, Creator $30 or $24, Business $60 or $48 (pricing). FlexClip: Plus US$19.99 or US$11.99, Business US$29.99 or US$19.99, the annual figures billed as one payment of US$143.88 or US$239.88 (pricing). Both checked on 26 October 2026. Wave.video's Business adds 200 captioning minutes a month and 5 cents a minute after that.

A blog post through each AI draft

Both turn a published post into a first cut. In FlexClip, paste the URL and click Analyze URL; an AI summary appears scene by scene, where you rewrite or delete any word, then choose stock or AI images, knowing AI images use more credits (blog URL guide). In Wave.video, choose New video, then Blog post, paste the link, set a duration or leave it to the tool, and pick a template; it pulls the pictures from the post, and some protected sites stall the generation (article-to-video guide).

The human check is the same in both: before generating, a person reads the AI summary next to the post and strikes any line that claims more than the post does, then checks that every image pulled from the page is one you are allowed to reuse.

Where the plan keeps the credits

FlexClip clears the AI credits that come with Plus or Business on the day the subscription ends, while a credits pack bought on its own keeps for 365 days (credit expiry article). Credits that live inside the plan are one more reason to keep paying for it, so spend them on videos already in the calendar, not on a reserve for later.

Free first, on the job you have

Wave.video Free streams to 2 channels for up to an hour with its watermark and lets you build videos you can publish to social but not download (pricing). FlexClip Free exports 720p and holds 12 projects (pricing). Run next month's live session on Wave.video Free and build the replay's landing page; make next month's promo on FlexClip Free. Whichever free plan you hit the limits of first is the one doing the work.

Who should choose which

  • Choose Wave.video if your job is running a recurring live show or webinar and turning each one into an edited replay with its own landing page, on one subscription.
  • Choose FlexClip if your job is short branded promos from templates and stock, with no live element, at the lower monthly price.

Both have entries: Wave.video and FlexClip. For FlexClip against an editor that cuts your own footage, see FlexClip vs invideo.

When the team already pays separately for a streaming tool, an editor and a video host, picking a bundle is a stack decision more than a tool decision; the Startup Fixer, a one-week review which I sell, lists what each subscription does and where they overlap before anything is cancelled or added.

FAQ

Can several people use one Wave.video account?

Its pricing FAQ answers teams by saying logins can be shared across the organisation, with folders to organise videos (Wave.video pricing); Business lists a shared login. FlexClip sells a Team plan with 3 seats instead (Team plan article).

Does Wave.video charge for captions?

On Business, 200 minutes of captioning a month are included and further minutes cost 5 cents each; Creator lists captions and subtitles among its editor features (Wave.video pricing).

Can FlexClip host a video on my site?

It gives Plus 100GB of video hosting space and a share link after export (FlexClip pricing, sharing article). Its pages read for this comparison do not describe landing pages or embed limits.
