The short answer: if you sell on Shopify and want to run creators for a season before you commit, Modash shows its price before any call: Essentials is $299 a month on monthly billing, or $199 a month billed yearly, with a 14-day trial that asks for no card (Modash pricing, checked on 26 October 2026). If your affiliates sell through WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce or Amazon too, and a large roster needs payouts and tax forms handled, Upfluence is built for that, quoted as a fixed fee with a 12-month minimum (Upfluence pricing). Modash wins finding, tracking and gifting on one store; Upfluence wins a standing affiliate programme across several.

Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.

Three numbers to write down first:

  1. The season, priced both ways. For example, a four-month test on Modash Essentials billed monthly is 4 x $299 = $1,196, while the yearly plan is 12 x $199 = $2,388 paid up front. Yearly only wins past month eight, since $2,388 / $299 = 7.99 (Modash pricing). Upfluence has no monthly route to price: its minimum contract is 12 months (Upfluence pricing FAQ).
  2. Where your orders and your fans already sit. Modash calls itself Shopify-first: other stores keep discovery, tracking and payments, while gifting, affiliates and automatic sales tracking need the Shopify integration (Modash homepage). Upfluence's codes work in Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce and Amazon stores (Upfluence homepage), and Live Capture checks each new buyer or subscriber against its creator database (Live Capture).
  3. The sales figure you will be judged on. Both count orders that carry a creator's code or link. Before you sign, export last quarter's code orders with each buyer marked new or returning. That split is your baseline.

What separates them

A number you read, or a number you are told

Modash prints its limits: Essentials has 2 team members, 300 opened profiles and 100 tracked creators a month; Performance raises those to 5, 800 and 250 (Modash pricing). Upfluence argues that public tiers make brands pay for unused features, so it prices per module and team, and you hear the figure on the first call (Upfluence pricing FAQ). Both hold. One lets you budget before a meeting; the other fits the quote to the programme.

Paying on sales means a year on either

You are not misreading the Modash FAQ. Affiliate management, meaning links, commission tiers and automatic payouts, sits on Performance, and the FAQ limits it to Performance Annual and Enterprise (Modash pricing). So a commission programme on Modash starts at $499 a month billed yearly, $5,988 up front, which is the same twelve months Upfluence asks for. The month-to-month freedom covers discovery, gifting and tracking, not the affiliate engine.

How far the store connection reaches

Modash syncs codes, orders and revenue both ways with Shopify, holds commissions for 7 to 365 days (30 by default) and pays out above a €50 minimum (Modash pricing). Upfluence reaches more store platforms and Amazon, and its Auto-pilot module adds bulk payouts in local currencies with identity checks and tax forms (Upfluence pricing). One Shopify store will not use that reach; a brand on Amazon and WooCommerce will.

Prices on 26 October 2026

  • Modash (pricing page): Essentials $299 a month billed monthly or $199 billed yearly ($2,388); Performance $599 monthly or $499 yearly ($5,988), with payments and, on yearly billing, affiliates; Enterprise from $14,700 a year. On Performance Annual, payouts carry no fee up to $10,000 a year, then 5% on the amount above.
  • Upfluence (pricing page): no published figure. Find Creators, Scale Programs and Auto-pilot are quoted as a fixed platform fee with no percentage of sales and no mandatory setup fee, a dedicated account manager, and a free trial set up after an initial call.

For example, a programme paying creators $30,000 in commissions over a year on Modash Performance billed yearly pays 5% x ($30,000 - $10,000) = $1,000 in payment fees on top of $5,988, so $6,988 is the figure to hold against Upfluence's 12-month quote.

One agent step: the month-end campaign read

Modash's MCP connector lets Claude or ChatGPT read your campaigns, lists and affiliate data, and reading them costs no credits; only opening a creator profile or revealing an email does (MCP article). At month end, ask it which creators in the campaign have posted their deliverables, which generated sales, and what commission each is owed, two of the prompts Modash itself suggests (prompt guide). The agent builds the list and approves nothing. The budget owner opens each post, checks the ad label and matches every commission line against paid, unreturned Shopify orders before a payout goes. Upfluence's beta server covers discovery, profiles and audiences instead (Upfluence MCP). The ad label rules and what GDPR lets you keep about creators are in the creator vetting use case.

Choose Upfluence if your job is

  • Running a year-round affiliate and ambassador programme across Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce or Amazon.
  • Paying a large roster worldwide, with identity checks, invoices and tax forms handled for you.
  • Buying only the modules you need, with an account manager, on a twelve-month term.

Choose Modash if your job is

  • Finding, vetting and gifting creators for a Shopify store, with prices you can read today.
  • Testing creator marketing month to month before a budget is approved.
  • Letting an AI assistant read campaign and affiliate results from your account at no credit cost.

The free check before any contract

Neither platform is needed to learn whether creators sell for you. Export last quarter's orders that used a creator code and mark the buyers who had ordered before. For example, if 340 orders carried a code and 119 came from returning customers, then 119 / 340 = 35% of the sales credited to creators went to people who already bought from you and picked up a discount on the way back. Then use Modash's free trial, with 20 opened profiles, 6 email reveals and 10 tracked creators and no card (Modash pricing FAQ), and Upfluence's free influencer tools, on the creators whose codes brought new buyers.

Modash's monthly toggle adds $100 to each plan, and the affiliate engine a Shopify brand usually comes for only switches on with Performance billed yearly, so the cheapest door into the product and the door into commissions are priced $5,689 apart in the first payment (Modash pricing). Price the door you need.

If that split has to be rerun for every creator each quarter, it is the kind of question a causal attribution tool answers continuously; Causality Engine is one, and I founded it.

FAQ

Does Modash take a cut of creator payments?

Not up to the yearly fee-free limit: Performance Annual pays 0% on the first $10,000 of payouts and affiliate commissions combined, then 5% on the amount above it; creators receive the full approved amount (Modash pricing).

Can I use Modash without Shopify?

Yes, for discovery, management, tracking and payments. Gifting, affiliate programmes and automatic sales tracking depend on the Shopify integration, per the FAQ on the Modash homepage.

Is Upfluence's comparison with Modash reliable?

Read it as Upfluence's view: the page says it rests on public sources as of February 2026 (Upfluence vs Modash).
